in conquest mode, what is the point behind obtaining a resource point and then running and leaving it to be taken by the opponent? since there are 5 points and 12 mechs why not put 4 mecchs aat one point? since everyone runs around it would be harder to deal with 4 mechs at one point with only 1 or 2 opposing mechs. three would give you over half which would let you win easily.

even if you hold a cap for a bit it makes your couter tick up. generally what happens is a mech will take a cap as a target of opportunity, its simply on the way to wherever they are headed to set up. usually having an assault lance walk through a cap at their best speed without stopping is enough to take it. best strat i think is to cap 3 and fight, but if you got the lights a cap win is always possible. around the 450mark you need to check to see if backcapping is required. if it gets to 600 its too late most of the time. most players want to kill mechs though and frankly you want everything over 40 tons fighting.

What if enemy murderball of 7-10 'Mechs arrives to your resource point, that is being defended by 4 'Mechs, and simply wipes your 4 'Mechs out? You would be losing 0:4.

If both teams each stationed a single lance at each of three cap points, only the four 'Mechs from each team assigned to Theta would actually fight. This is both no fun and an extremely poor use of resources. The first team to say "fudge this, you backstanders get to Theta and help!" wins. It's why Conquest is almost always a giant dogpile at Theta with each team's faster 'Mechs bickering over the side cap points - that way everybody gets to fight.

honestly simple is always best. general i go with a "fatties and slow mechs head for center cap (its not always theta) and a couple fast moves grab some caps."
most MWO matches are like herding cats so simplest is always best.

I did not read the prior posts. But, I have found to preffer conquest as a game mode. For the sheer fact that it tends to split the teams up a little. Not a lot, but a little. Being stuck in, or facing off against a 12 man blob, or just 2 12 man blobs shooting back and forth gets BORRING at best...

i feel ya there, then again i am always one to chose a game mode with an alternate win condition over Skirmish (its always hilarious to win a match on caps when the enemy team is slamming you 11-1. i can't help but laugh every time)

It's still absolutely hilarious when Team A kills all the mechs on Team B but still loses the match because they didn't capture any of the resource points.

i honestly dislike conquest the most out of any of the modes the cap points don't even give you anything, no slow repair no slow refill of ammo absolutly no reward for capping a point....aside from ticket increase...

I just like Conquest because of the extra cbux.
Also people play it like skirmish anyway in most maps, especially smaller ones.

I agree with you.
I almost always vote for Conquest - and I voted for Escort too when it was available - because it breaks the boredom of the unending chain of Skirmish games (no matter if they are called Skirmish, Assault or Domination).
