Arguably the two strongest light mechs right now:

Warthog ADR-W(L) vs UM-IIC-M(TSP), which is better? ;)

(The ADR-W(L) with bonus +30% CBills boost cannot be purchased right now).

obviously the one not behind a $40 paywall.

Since we apparently need it reasoned out, here are the Pros of each...

ADR-W(L)
  • Heat Generation -5%
  • Heat Dissipation +5%
  • Overheat Damage -20%
  • Base Armor (CT) +15
  • Base Armor (RT) +4
  • Base Armor (LT) +4
  • Base Armor (RA) +6
  • Base Armor (LA) +6
  • Base Structure (RA) +6
  • Base Structure (LA) +6
  • Base Structure (RL) +16
  • Base Structure (LL) +16
  • Machine Gun Range (So8) +25%
  • Spread (So8) -25%
  • OmniMech Chassis
(can Change HardPoints & some Quirks as wanted...)
(Not strictly limited to 14 B, 1 E config only)
  • Moves way faster than UM-IIC-M(TSP)
  • (C-Bills) Version is already available

UM-IIC-M(TSP)
  • Base Armor (Full Body) +30
  • Proto AC/2 Ammo +100
  • Proto AC/4 Ammo +50
  • Proto AC/8 Ammo +50
  • Heat Dissipation +15%
  • BattleMech (can Change Upgrades & Engine as wanted...)
  • Can do a 360-Degree Torso Twist if wanted and/or needed
  • Has more Energy HardPoints than ADR-W (12 B, 2 E)

...and so you are basically left with the following questions...
  • What kind of Build did you have in mind?
  • Which of these Initial Quirk Sets, HardPoints, and Other Options are more desired?
  • Would changing anything help if you decide to?
...and when you figure out these questions, you'll then know which one to get. That also means even if you must wait for the (C-Bills) Version to become available for some reason. I hope these analysis summaries help you have good luck in figuring out your dilemma! B)

The TSP urbie can sit at 400m with beams+LMGs doing an astonishing 21 DPS while the warthog has to close, but the warthog also goes 120+ kmh whereas the TSP urbie is hardcapped at 52.3 with speed tweak.

I quite like it because you can play off of friendly assaults since you're small enough to not get in the way and nobody ever shoots at you given other options, but also it's locked behind the $40 TSP.

slow urbies are the only light mechs at home being defense turrets for assault mechs. most other lights that will get you killed.
