There are intersting 'Mechs, but...

...this Widow maker is NOT the Widowmaker.

The real Widowmaker has 2 ER PPCs and 2 Large Pulse Lasers in the arms, has 1 UAC-20 (RT on the top), 2 ER Medium Lasers in the CT and 1 ER Small Laser in the Head.

Why not made this guys of PGI???

That question was asked and answered – and pre-answered in the patch notes, in fact. That configuration is already possible in-game with existing Dire Wolf pods. I made one myself the day the patch notes were published, actually. You just need to start with the Dire Wolf W (oddly fitting) and swap the arms and RT.

So they went with the Widowmaker LRM configuration instead, or at least their best-guess interpretation of its description in Blood Legacy, since that particular version doesn't actually have a record sheet; the reason was to introduce at least some pods that were actually new.

Just slap an ECM into CT of Legendary Dire Wolf, and with no JJ, and with no MASC.

I'll be very happy then! :)

Give the Bounty Hunter Masc, and it can hunt.

I get that, but then don't call it Widowmaker. Unfortunately, less and less places pay attention to lore.

This configuration is more like Kurita's heir apparent Dire Wolf in terms of pods.

But... it is the Widowmaker. Just not the most familiar configuration. For all intents and purposes, it is the 3051 Trial of Position version Natasha used before the one we know best.

Hohiro Kurita's Dire Wolf is completely different. Among other things, that one had Gauss Rifles.

Further more, if you got that, you wouldn't have asked the question and told everybody something they already knew in the first place.

There's more to the lore than what the record sheets and TROs alone will tell you. Many canon configurations and variants exist that straight up don't have those; the Widowmaker's LRM configuration was one of them. Widen your view.

Oh no... we paid a LOT of attention to lore. Just not the one in your head.

This is the lore from Blood Legacy -
Phelan smiled as he read the computer's name for her mech. "Widowmaker? That's appropriate. Looks like you're loaded for bear, Colonel Kerensky."

The Widowmaker later in the timeline can be made with existing omnipods and CT, specifically the W CT). We're not going to release a "new" variant that can be made with existing omnipods. New variants in omnis or battlemechs are new hardpoints, equipment, or capabilities. You want your Widowmaker? Build it from the link below and run it.

https://mwo.nav-alph...=f2383e17_DWF-W

The funny thing is it's actually a decent build for MWO and the quirks even work decently for it. "Real value" if we repackage it and sell it for real money. /s by the way

I love my Widowmaker DWF, and seriously thinking of replacing my 4x DWF-A(P) with Widowmaker :)
