Instead of constantly releasing new mechs and maps, why don't you focus on a graphics update? xD And especially on the core gameplay element: Faction Play.

To be honest, I'm fine with new mechs and maps. This game needs some fresh content in order to survive. I do agree with you on Faction Play though.

I mean, it's fine that new things are being added, but as you said, they should focus more on delivering better content because it's too repetitive and too much of the same thing over and over again. It's always the same gameplay, a few rounds here and there. Unfortunately, it always feels the same. What was fun for me back then, and why I played the game in the first place, was and always will be the faction war. Just being able to hold planets as a guild and farm Minecraft resources and conquer planets live was fantastic, and it was a lot of fun to play scouting and help other people conquering planets by giving them certain advantages, like longtoms or scanning. But all of that needs improvement because in the past, some things were way too overpowered. They need to adjust and balance everything.

Is the Arrow IV going to be able to be used in other mechs? What are it's stats (slots, tonnage) Please and ty.

BTW thank you to the devs for being active in the forum. I appreciate everything you are doing to keep this game going.

i hope the this new Weapon wont break the balancing of the game. Be careful PGI ... i hope this is well tested and is not such a mess like the Artillery strike in Faction play which needed to be removed

Not sure what PGI's financial needs are, but a new $15 monthly Legend mech is something I might just buy consistently for better or worse. Obviously there needs to be more good ones than bad, like there are currently.

What are the bad legends? I don't see any that are bad

Thing is, the woodsman is just, the timber wolf, but standard engine. Their thing for releasing new chassis is 'What will it bring to mwo'

It makes sense. The designs are related. The newer BattleTech art even gives them similar legs. The Naga II from the RecGuides seems to have the same arms as the Gargoyle too.

It also has MASC.

The thing that gets me about the Timber Wolf being related to the Woodsman at all is that they share a similar primary configuration, and that's it. From a design standpoint, the Timber Wolf has more in common with the Lupus and Catapult than it does with the Woodsman. After all, you can run a Timber Wolf Prime configuration on any omnimech that has the pod space available for the loadout.

The Naga is more of a direct descendant of the Woodsman than the Gargoyle is, and the Gargoyle is related by wearing the same pants (and sometimes arms).

That is a weak argument that no longer applies, also it's unique in that it's a clan omni with a Standard engine..... it also has masc so it brings to the table a timberwolf like omnimech with a fixed standard engine and masc. And before you say Howl the Howl is a battlemech.

The Naga is based on the Woodsman with an altered side torso and arms the Timberwolf was a replacement for the Woodsman. All three mechs including the Naga II are designed by Clan Wolf. they are all almost like a family of tanks like say the M4 sherman or m1 Abrams, though i'd argue more for the latter due to how drastically they changed. The Woodsman even has a configuration with heavy lasers as it was a very good testbed for new hardware.

No, it completely applies. The relevancy argument is not "they have a shared history in lore", that's merely a fun side note that the designers could imitate the lower body as a nod to that background for sharp eyed enthusiasts.

The correct question is - how is this mech relevant to MW5: Clans or MW5: Mercs insofar as the next DLC is concerned. For example, if the next DLC had been Jade Falcon instead of Wolf, the new chassis likely would not have been the Naga which was uniquely Wolf.

So, given likely hypotheses on what the next DLCs might be for either Clans or Mercs, new mech chassis should be prioritized based on their relevance to that IP. That is then ported to MWO and the variants are picked based on what new things they might introduce to MWO.

In the case of the Naga, it was Arrow IV, interchangeable pods between Naga and Naga II, and a "modified missile loader" similar to the Bane Leviathan's modified ballistic loader.

Color me 100% shocked if the Woodsman passed any of those checkpoints as a brand new chassis relevant to MW5. That said, with existing Naga and Gargoyle geometry, I could MAYBE see a case where a Woodsman booster pack or Legend is made given minor geometry modifications like the Grand Summoner.

Kingfisher, Stooping Hawk, Night Chanter, Spirit Walker, and Lupus all say "hi" :)

The Night Chanter and Spirit Walker may be relatively easy to put in the game considering they're Clan omnimech versions of the Crab and Black Knight, respectively.

That said, I'd rather have a Kingfisher or Stooping Hawk over the Woodsman, but that's just my preference. The Kingfisher got quite a makeover for the RecGuides.

The Stooping Hawk and Kingfisher are good mechs. The Stooping Hawk to me is like what would happen if the Clans made their own Shadow Hawk in OmniMech form and the Kingfisher is an STD Assault Omni. Also it has a MASC variant, so seeing a STD Omni waddling at you at high speed is funny to see.

I'm just going say this, but I think for next year PGI should have a Loyalty reward where if you buy a certain mechpack, then you should get the Arrow Urbie as a loyalty reward.

In MWO and MW5 Clans, the Naga and Naga II are considered the same chassis but different variants. If you equip Naga arm omnipods, you will get the high longbow-esque missile arms. If you equip a Naga II arm omnipod, that arm will change to a low slung arm like in the photo. Players will be able to mix and match their arms for their builds.

However, the NGA-PRIME and NGA-B both have fixed Arrow IVs in their omnipods. If you want the high arms and the ability to change their missile weapon, you'll have to get the hero.

-ok the only thing Im not liking is this new trend of "fixed weapons" on mechs...

I'm curious as to how the Arrow IV will work in MWO. Will it be Indirect fire, or will it be direct fire like a regular SRM/LRM?
