I thought at one point this was something that actually was available.

This needs to be a option for private lobby please. Would be extremely helpful to get new players trained in, instead of them being totally de-moralized by the total stomping they get after waiting a hour to get into a actual faction play map.

Honestly i agree, There is a certain level of skill required for this. And Mechs are needed to be able to fight for extended periods of time. You cannot bring a high burst low ammo mech into this and expect to do well. Also there needs to be a better incentive in regards to playing it. But having a private lobby for training regarding maps for Factions would be benificial for the players and the comunity as a whole.

Map availability is a good idea.

I could swear it was as well, and through a "Siege" and/or "Invasion" option under that "Game Mode" selector's list. I guess we're both left asking what happened?

Agreed. You get my...
SUPPORT!
...on this matter! It needs to be more than mere Testing Grounds access for this stuff. B)

I agree with this 100%. It would be a good way to practice with friends and unit mates in order to better understand the FP maps.

I fully agree with this. Even for people who do quick drops often faction is challenging because we do not know the maps very well

Yes, I also Agree with the OP Statement this is something we really need to help advance ourselves in this game with FP Content.

I would like to Point out that PGI is doing FP events to get more people interested in FP, Would that goal not be furthered along if people could actually call up the Maps in Private lobby to explore and practice them to help make the overall experience better?

I have been wanting to do larger private lobby games with custom rules and lore. I kept running into this issue where there would only be like 2 or 3 maps in any classifiable region, and I also had to make the game mode fit both the map and the lore, which just significantly limits my options. There are a ton of siege maps which are both big enough to play on for more grand-scale combat purposes, and add more variety and continuity (I.E Mission 1 goes to Vitric Station (QP), leads into Mission 2 on Vitric Forge (FP)).

Just having the option to play these maps in a lobby setting would be seriously fun, and I hope PGI can put them into the lobby editor.

They used to be available, not sure what "good" reason they had for taking them out, But I would like for them to SERIOUSLY put them back!

I see NO REASON why ANY map would not be available in private lobbies... Just a waste of already available content. Some people just WONT play FP, but they still deserve the opportunity to enjoy the maps...

Yeah, thats pretty much where we are at, we got large enough again that we can start doing FP again, and when I went to load a FP map they were not there anymore. Kinda pissed about it to be honest. As stated before, there is no actual "Good" reason for them to have taken them out!

Asking some of the longer tenured folks in cauldron - I believe this was looked at back in 2018 but wasn't done as it would've required UI changes for the lobby mechanism (i.e., there is no drop deck) and resources were shifted to MW5 Mercs then.
Right now all coding resources are dedicated to MW5, nothing for MWO and certainly not FP.

So, TLDR there is no way to do private lobby siege without coding and coding won't happen. Best option for now is training grounds.

I am hoping that if enough people speak up for it, especially those of us still pouring money into this game such as myself and a great many other players I know, that it will be something they will re-think.

As far as coding goes, (and my knowledge is not great in this area) Most of whats needed appears to already be in place with the testing grounds, we would not need the drops decks, just the ability to make a group and drop on the map. I can see where adding drop decks would be a pain in the ***!

I've also gone as far as to send them a email about it last night and a ticket has been created and forwarded to the Dev team. So I am hopeful!

I just got a email response from PGI and Its at least promising, So if we can keep this tread alive and get others to come voice their opinions as well it could actually be made to happen!!!!

From what I know, it is unlikely to happen in the nearest future, as it would involve quite a bit of QA time, but a possibility for next year.
