First, the mounts on the BLR are amazing and with 2 Binary and 3 or 4 erm it's not only great but MUCH more mobile than the stalker (doubt the stalker has as good quirks either). If you use the rac BLR as a brawler the low mounts don't matter. Hellslinger with snubs is fun. But it's best to brawl with a partner or two if you don't have the discipline to know when to push or 'expose.' Bottom line, with hundreds of mechs available, there's always going to be a 'better mech' out there. What you find good or inferior is affected by skill. If you have good positioning skills (the most important skill you can have) you can use less 'optimal' (meta) mechs and take advantage of their insane quirks. This adds fun and variety to the game which is something I personally need or I would go insane running the same builds/mechs over and over again. Personally I prefer mobility and quirks (which the WVR and BLR are soaking in) over other things and make up for any downsides with good positioning. Taking advantage of quirks is key in my book, my favourites being laser duration and ballistic cooldown.
First off, the STK-4N has 6HSL for STD LL, or 4HSL for ERLL, and 3HSL for BLCs, that you never bothered to look at either the STK-4N/Trial Stalker to know that is just wow. That last part you could also run on the 4BLC Charger-3K too by the way.
Second, it's a Stalker, the thing with "the best hitbox and weapon placement in the game" as it's often called apparently, which also excuses it not having much missile quirks which is probably the only thing it needs buffs on if anything.
And alright fine, the BattleMaster does have a much better engine range (not limited to 310 like the Stalker) that lets it go faster and cram in more DHS, granted it also doesn't have the Stalker hitbox. Though the HeavyStalker does move faster from being a 75t which is the only real thing it has going for being 75t.
Then there's "if you use the jamless BLR, low mounts don't matter" just says you've never played an IS Orion either and how much better it is as well in doing the same thing.
Do I seriously need to post something like
this (it's an LB10+MRM40+3ERML Orion by the way) to drive the point all the time? You wish the low mount using BattleMasters are just as fast, more agile, etc.
And mobility quirks? Really? For moving at an slow-heavy speed, the BattleMaster has a pretty bad agility, not Blood-Asp tier *exceptionally* bad granted, but still pretty bad. Something that the XL Cyclops (which you'd try out if you don't want to just be a budget Atlas on them) also shares as an issue.
Then also the Charger has awful agility relatively for how fast it gets.
And the Wolverine's JJ quirks are rather forgettable though it does at least have acceptable agility for a medium. Still terrible damage output because we can't have the Nova-D as an example of how much damage a slow medium should have apparently.
