They can be brutal with Armor Piercing ammo.

On my dragon I use either triple ac2s or swap one out for a machine gun (kinda like a tracer)
They dont do huge amounts of damage but I never overheat and as long as you bring enough ammo... Eventually an ac2 will break through any armour... And the range on them is huge.
