On a side note, there's also that trade-off between busting up you're enemy's LBX20 to render them impotent more quickly than killing them outright, and taking the time to make those precise shots in order to keep it when he dies.
I think there's a lot of room to expand the mechanics of this aspect of the game.

Fusion engines do not explode, except in very specific circumstances, think less than 1%, and 4 mechs do not have the firepower to reduce a mech to smitherines. Ammo explosions, might throw some debris, depending on the size of the explosion, but you have to explode the ammo with something, as I said fusion engines don't explode, nor do the heat up so they will not cook off the ammo either, they just go cold, expcet in extremely rare circumstances.
