No matter how much i like the BT universe.... mechs in reality will just never be feasible. They will be too slow, too bulky and too expensive as opposed to a tank, artillery piece or god forbid... a cruise missile...

Unmanned mechs, sure. But manned mechs are deathtraps.They lack the speed, armor, and relatively low profile of tanks.
