Q: Where would you like to place a server for Europe ?
Q: What do you think about the placement of servers in Germany in Frankfurt ? (European optical network node)
I ask because I live in Russia and the current connection to the server causes long delays.

I agree to adding the Saiket controllers, right now they are not responsive enough and the throttle is backwards.

Throttle is backwards on the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro as well.
I also feel there should be some sort of training/testing area. People new to Mechwarrior will have issues with the controls and they shouldn't be expected to have to learn it all on the fly. Also, I'm sure people would like to be able to test out controller or keymapping configurations as well as configuring weapon groups before jumping into a match.

No - Devs have stated they will only be available on mechs and even specific variants that had them in canon

Open beta before the summer is over, 'Live' status (no longer beta) at some undecided point after that

Yes - the final wipe will be when open beta starts, so that new players and beta veterans will be on equal footing.

Shh! The first rule of beta is that we don't talk about beta (not on the public forums, at least)! That goes for a few others on here asking beta related questions as well...

How dare you challenge the Garth's authority and ability to answer our questions! </joking mode off> Seriously, though, he is the community manager - he gets to do a lot of the forward facing stuff like this I think. I bet he coordinates with other Devs to get any answers as needed

No, at least not for the time being. PvP is the main focus of this game, though some PvE element may come at a later date. Salvaging in the normal sense is not going to be in with PvP because nothing is going to be 'lost' by one team for the other to 'gain' (and gain without loss on the other side would imbalance the economy).
Pitty, on 05 August 2012 - 04:28 PM, said:
There are very large combat maps, and more maps will be added over time - but there isn't the option to simply walk around in your mech, etc. The overarching 'map' will be that of the whole Inner Sphere, once Community Warfare is in place, but you won't be able to just move around in it (there would be no point)... it will be more for tracking planetary control, etc. That is all going to be coming in well after open beta, though.

Open beta is planned to be by the end of this summer, so not too much longer

Even canon mechs without arm mounted weapons still have arms (Banshee, for example). The TT rules and all previous MechWarrior games do not take damage into account when seeing how fast you can move, other than damage to the legs (loss of a leg in some games makes you limp).

Founders time will start at the beginning of open beta (end of summer) along with a final reset of founder's credits. You will get the boost to XP / cbills starting on Founders day (8-7-12) though, it just won't yet count against your 1 / 2 / 3 months of premium time.

I agree that this would be nice for a select few Founders who may not be able to play immediately around open beta - it has been asked for before, and with continued requests might be possible... but it may also be something beyond the scope of what was intended with this program.

6. I'm not typically an RPer, but the more you look, the more you see 1 or more RP community/communities showing up and/or growing. In my past experience there can be some friction between RPer's and Non-RPer's and that's never good. Are there steps being taken to give RPer's an in-game outlet that is easily accessible but not overlapping normal/Non-RP communications, so as to help prevent Mr. Random Guy from picking a fight with Mr. RPer?
The BT/MW series has one of the highest immersion factors of any IP known to exist. Only eve in my opinion comes close. And every video game based on this system has gone to great lengths to keep that immersion. In my opinion there will be very little of that friction in THIS game compared to others due to that immersion level. Everyone will be communicating in the same basic language when it comes to mechs, equipment, locations, events and even money. This right there makes for far less friction Some of the clan friendly units may use clanner terms like Aff and Star and others But these are all terms any pilot in this game will have to know to effectively analyze the enemy. Not just because they're 'the terms' everyone uses. But because no current military structure fits the situation.
I cant see he scenario you're talking about unless clear blatant goonswarm level trolling happens. At which point i would consider that a TOS violation and worthy of proper punishment under those terms. While an RP channel might be implimented to avoid the blatent OOC statements in a chat setting I dont think they're going to be as necessary as i've seen in other instances.

also was wondering what everyone thinks of a more in depth command role, think natural selection or battlefield 2. a small rts element w/o taking too much away from the mech combat. like the ability to give orders attack or defend orders to lancemates and have it displayed on hud, to place turrents and command npc tanks or other cannon fodder at the cost of cbills or whatevs. always a fan of huge online battles and this would be so fitting for the next generation of mechwarrior
