Is the Founder Program the only way you will have access to the Founder Mechs? Or will they still be available in the mech lab for purchase?

I think it woudl kind of defeat the purpose if every tom dick and harry could buy them, no?

Only available through the Founder's program.

But aside from the c-bill bonus, they're functionally identical to the prime variants available through the mechlab.

Well, if they're just variants then that makes more sense. I was picturing them cutting players off from those mech chassis, and was like, hmmmm....

No, if you read the posts about the Founder's program, and the FAQ, you'll see that the Founder's mechs are the base (starting) variants of said mechs. So, in theory, if you were an Legendary Founder, you would get all 4 mechs, with associated mechbay slots, plus you also get your "starter" mech (any chassis you want to start with), so you could theoretically work 5 mech lines at once. A pretty good deal. Plus, the Founder's mechs come with a custom paint job, and a LIFETIME 25% c-bill boost on that particular mech, AND they are completely customizable in the mechlab. So there you have it. NOW GO BUY ONE! Just kidding! ;)

No they will not be available. That would completely defeat the purpose.

Hell 5 mechs to start out with with little or no grind time...that's why I bought the Legendary version. Also I want my name in the game for vanity sake. ;)

Yeah, I'm planing on doing the legendary one, especially with the gameplay videos they've been pumping out. Too bad I can't use my Steel Battalion controller with it >=D

I'm not very familiar with varients. Are founders varients superior in any way?

Nope.

Variants are just different weapons loadouts within a given chassis. The founder mechs are all the stock variant of their respective chassis.

founder mechs are identical to the prime (original) variant of said mech, it will be identical in everyway to the same model bought in the store after realease except for the fact that everytime you pilot that founders mech it will give you +25% c-bill bonus.

oh and sorry but it may have a few skin (coloring) differences but nothing that will make its gameplay any different

I understand that Founder's mechs are exclusive.
But if you are talking about mechs with increased c-bills income, i think they will be introduced into game at start or later.
Just some other mechs, not the Founder's ones.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see something similar in their cash store with a $15 price tag. Not an actual Founders mech, but something with the same c-bill bonus.

I'm new to F2P so I'm curious to see how many people buy camo's, etc...

A question to clarify: you mention that the mech will be a stock build with regards to armor and weapons, do you mean initially? I.e. once you purchase armaments, you can customize the loadout while still having the 25% c-bill bonus?

Yes, you can change the weapons etc. like with any other mech. The only difference is the 25% bonus and the way they look.
