I like the FRR, but I'm still a Federated suns player. Unless Davion is overpopulated I won't be joining FRR. Gotta go where the work is afterall XD
You can change your avatar right now then. Davions have more players than ever before.

Well put.--
The way I see it, from the day the first colonies broke off from Terra in 2236 to this day (in 3049 !) humanity has been in a war of some sort. None of the major factions really care whether you fight, let alone who you fight for. Hence I go with the mercs, at least with them I can make a few creds before this burning trainwreck of a species hits the floor.

Davions:
You played as one of them in Mechwarrior 4.
They see themselves as the good guys.
They are based on USA, England.
They are the most popular house in fanbase.
They love autocannons.
They are dumb.

Marik:
Based on western culture as Davions.
Lots of mech production capability (but they make tanks till Clans invade).
Lots of infighting, since they are only democratic house.

They wear "manly purple" and paint their mechs that way.

Normal popularity.
They are allies with us (Liao).

Really? Sarna.net says that Davion is English/French Constitutional Monarchy, while Marik is the American and Indian, capitalist, Democratic faction. If you look at the way the Marik government is structured (according to Sarna, I haven't read any of the Novels or other fluff fiction, etc) it is pretty much an exact copy of (or a leftist parody of...) the US Federal government, with a legislative branch and an executive branch, and different planets (States) having a certain amount of independence and autonomy. It has a one leader dictatorship, like Davion, Steiner, Kurita, et al, but that is because the office of the Presidency has been granted dictatorial powers over the years by the legislator, not a pure monarchy like Davion/Steiner.

Special warriors which inavded Inner Sphere.
They are divided between various clans.
They have the best mechs, but they are low on numbers.
They follow "Zellbrigen", which are rules on how to fight.
Insane popularity. (guess why)
They will become available a year after launch.
They will get beaten by telephone company and one of the clans will get destroyed by Inner Sphere.

Don't **** with Ma Bell...

Hence why they resorted to dishonorable tactics on Wolcott.
Clans are not some kind of super honor demanding warriors too. How about their fight with Kai Allard? Clan tech vs. Centurion, then Kai against 6 Elementals if I remember right.

There are rules, but rules were meant to be broken. If they weren't, Clan Wolf would have never succeeded in the Battle of Tukayyid, and Kurita would be a much more popular faction than it is right now. When the game's released, make your own rules, and break them as required.

Pretty much the usual line of bussiness expected from the Davions.

Free Rasalhague Republic:
Based on vikings and scandinavians.
They parted from Kuritans, so they hate each other.
Lore wise, after the Clans invade, they will loose all, but 7 planets.
BUT their players believe they will "hold the line".
Earliest access to rare powerful Clan tech.
Mostly made out of waiting Clan players.
Not true. Many of us are just FRR through & through.

Really, as we're not talking about political systems here. It's all about heritage.
