If a Mac person wants to play the game, he will have to spend more money than he already has - even I find that to be poor fiscal sense. So, spending less to play the good games (and do all the other stuff, too) or spend way more than you should to dual-boot - why can't mac owners be teased some.
Bootcamp and buy OS 7 64-bit Home edition. OR, just spend the cash on a $600 windows-only based computer and keep your Mac for all of the other stuff it does well. Or just buy a PS3 and play Dust 514.

I did not pick Mac to show off or to waste money. I picked the product line for its rock solid build quality and amazing customer support. Yes, yes I know I have to pay extra for this and more money for the brand. Oh well, TANSTAAFL.
The real breaking point for me was digitally converting my DVDs and TV shows. I can rip a two hour movie with full DVD resolution, subs and three different audio choices in 13 minutes or so. Most pc gaming machines simply won't do that well at this task.
Reasons to use a Mac...
Superior physical build quality to most pc desktops out there ( with obvious exception of Falcon NW and other gaming builders)
Top notch support via apple care
OS X is a great operating system, really nice interface
When I need it, I can always run windows via boot camp
Audio visual and digital conversion it is still king
Reasons to buy a PC...
Much lower price point. Not saying cheap here, I love the deals out there on some of the better PC gaming rigs.
Customization. Building a powerful computer at home from scratch is just plain fun. And I love the dizzying array of options out there.
Best choice for pc gaming exclusive use.
Again, lots of fond memories of building computers, starting with my first, a Pentium 3 300 MHz back in 1998.
In short, don't be hating just because I have a shiny apple on the side of my desktop. The game doesn't care and neither should you.
Oh, and if anyone has any questions installing boot camp or running windows in general, shoot me an email. I would be more than glad to help. The more players the better, amiright?
