I was referring to how you manage to shop for food, which you may not have tried before and thereby putting a dent in your logic (or at least trying to ;))

If it's a general money issue, it's an entirely different story;I was in no way, shape or form trying to sound condescending.

You will receive a ton of puzzled and irritated replies though, before this thread most likely is locked. You are posting about a personal issue regarding a paid service for a free to play game.

no offense, but if you can't afford to spend $30 on yourself for entertainment, your doing it wrong.

I've been in the BETA for about a month now, and I have no regrets in the $120 I spent.

Im with you Founders, I am just a big fan of MW personnaly as I still have my original copy of MW1 for my PS1, I wish I could be in the game right now but as of right now I only have 10$, need to work for my father or someone a little more..... well, enogh of my small little story, If you Don't want to pay then DON'T, and don't put a rant page up about your problems ethir, Pirrana games is hard at work and are getting very close to public release, so if you want to wait then wait, Im going to get founders soon. To top it off they are letting Founders play even earlier then they said, they said AUG. 7th was the day Founders get in, they let Every founder get into the game yesterday, so that might mean something.

Now don't take this the wrong way is this is simply a matter of curiosity, but why tell us. What was your initial intent as your original post is not framed as a question and stating that you will not buy a free game is sort of redundant. Neither was there some kind of demand posted from you so i am simply very curious as to what you had in mind that this post would achieve,

Not saying that you need to have a intention for all things you do but it is kind of common in this day and age.

to the OP: congratulations on showing that you are not the kind of person that the founders packs are intended for.

founders packs are intended for people who have faith that MWO will be a good game and are willing to invest in the game.

And to be a part of it, in some very limited sense.

If you can't even afford enough food, maybe you shouldn't be buying a game. ;) Just saying....

Has anyone considered that many of you have paid twice the usual amount that a video game costs for a video game that is not even an actual reality yet?

Don't get me wrong. I play every day and I will likely drop the dough this week, (before Aug 7) as a Bday present to me, but... have you considered that? Twice the amount of a normal game for a Free 2 Play title that is not even available. What we are really providing is venture capital. We are saying that we want for this to be a success so much that we are willing to pay twice as much as a blockbuster title in hopes that millions of others will join us for free.

Well, F2P is a kinda of like saying free stuff to drink. Water is free, you want the good stuff, you have to pay. As a founder, you get some extras. The higher level the package, the more good stuff you get. By buying a founder's package I'm saying "Oh hell yes! I've been waiting for a mech game for over a decade and I want in ASAP and gimme ALL the goodies!"

Uhm.
Well i can understand your situation.
I even feel sorry for you that you have that low money atm and wish you a better future.

But:
That is a total pointless and unimportant information for that forum so why are you posting it?
And why are you posting it and expecting something else but "go away troll" answers?

I would guess he's frustrated and just needed to vent, or he really is just trolling. Hard to tell without knowing a person or at least talking face to face.

If your budget is that tight then I recommend that you do wait it out and spend on more important things.

See the troll fest you started ;)

Hey, I think most us rational types understand.. I've been broke and can understand.

I think the title of your post should have been.. "I can't afford to buy MWO.. "

To say Refuse and then say its more of a money issue. Are two different things..

You can only refuse what you CAN do.. if you CANT afford the $30 to gain access right now, then that's a bummer, but your not refusing to buy MWO, you simply can't afford the luxury of spending the $30.

That said, if you put it into this perspective..

Do you KNOW you are going to like a movie before you go..? No, you have to go based on trailers and reviews.

Based on Trailers and reviews, MWO kicks arse..

Cost to go to a movie..? $10 for tickets and $10 for popcorn and a coke, say you take friend and its close to $40

Entertainment hours provided - 2-3 hours

Cost to get into MWO ? $30

Entertainment hours provided.. ? - Countless.. even if you don't end up liking it 100% I guarantee if your even a casual gamer you will spend at least 4-6 hours with the game (not counting download time). If you get hooked.. then the amount of hours will be in the triple digits.

Just sayin..

It'll all work out in the end.

I'm not so sure that he'd be doing it wrong. His circumstances may just be different.
Just coz you have no regrets doesn't mean he won't~

For some reason that reminds me of: "Dignity and a sack is still worth a sack."

Hehe... complete different meaning.
The famous bag of rice in china means, you have information about a bag of rice in china, this bag fell over. Which informational value you get from knowing about this bag? Can you go and raise it up again? Maybee it is extreme important for the chinese owner of this bag?
BUT WE COULDN´T CARE LESS!

The guy who made this thread may have his intentions, but why is he bothering us?

Fair enough mate. I understand where you are coming from.
I myself have confidence this will be a game I will enjoy and am eager to play and also help support it's development.
That is the beauty of this game it caters to:
  • those with confidence in what they have read / seen so far as posted on the forums and media videos and interviews.
  • hardcore BT:TT / MW fans
  • the casuals / interested fans / fence sitters.
  • 1, 2 or 3 that does not have spare cash.
  • 1, 2 or 3 that has spare liquid assets
This is the beauty of the way they are designing the F2P system of MWO. Hope to see you in game and having fun when it goes live PhoenixStorm.

~EDIT: Also I think this is a valid point Chuckie:

OK then. Don't. Nobody ever said that you have to. Just don't try to make out like they are doing something wrong by offering something you're not interested in.

Whether you like it or not, these days it's common practice for publishers to offer pre-orders for new games, and special perks for the people that pick up the pre-order. They already know perfectly well that it's not for everyone, and your passive-aggressive refusal isn't going to stop them from offering it, or anyone else from taking it.
