My choice is Cicada CDA-3C (with PPC), Vulcan VL-5T or, in case of unseen, Phoenix Hawk. All of them are good backbone of scout lance.

Not exactly sure which mech i would pick, but important points would be.
Non humanoid - low profile
Mixed speed and armor - 1 shot kills are no fun when your on the recieving end.
ECM BAP and AMS/LAMS if at all possible (BAP would be nice for identifying targets wile still staying clear of some of the big guns)

Final thought, I wouldnt raid a church bingo game without AMS/LAMS =)

as close to a cougar I can get without it being clan tech... so 97 kph or maybe 110 gearing more towards armor and weapons with no Ewar onboard so its just really spotting.

The Locust, of course. Small, speedy, while still packing a punch. I love that 'Mech!

I would prefer a humannoid element such as a USMC scout sniper platoon, since thats what I know of, but with Mechs I want something that has SPEED, jumpjets and has the firepower in case it gets into a ooohhh **** scenario. Speaking of a desert or artic scenario with little to no cover and concealment I would hope to have some sort of cloaking device. I don't believe that will come out in launch but I can wish upon a star right ?

The Chameleon system was developed during the height of the original Star League, but is LosTech. There is stealth armor coming down the pipe in the 3060s, but only for the MadCaps until the 3070s. At that point the Wobblies will have their Null Void System, which combined with an Angel ECM suite provides full spectrum stealth on the Raptor II. Basically the nutjobs of the BT universe have the best stealth systems, which is rather curious.

Despite my hate for the Locust and my vote for something with jump jets, i'll take it.

My hatred for the Locust stems from my time spent with it in Mechwarrior 1...

The Jenner would be a nice alternative too and packs a rather considerable amount of firepower with speed and jump jets.

Poll lacks one "Don't care about the above" option. Otherwise those who have different priorities needn't bother voting at all, right? ^_^

Next question...Can we salvage that Chameleon kit after a battle along with the Electronic Warfare Gear and the ammo ?

My vote goes to option 2 and 4.

Non humanoid + Jump jets with above average speed (118 KPH) = ZPH-1 Trantula ^_^

That's what i'm looking for...

Well, the Chameleon system is LosTech, which means it isn't around anymore. And I don't know how the salvage system will work in MWO, I just just quoting stuff from the tabletop TROs.

And to answer the OP, the best scout mech in BT is without a doubt the Black Lanner A.

gota say the Jenner has it all really
not to bad armour, low profile, jump jets and enough speed to drop it some for some extra armour if the mission requires

but i pilot Heavys so my opinion means nothing here

Really? My love of the Locust stems from my time spent with it in Mechwarrior 1. It was ideal for defensive and base destruction missions. The big boys would draw the attention of enemy 'Mechs, while me and my Locust would circle around and attack their rear. That's what the machine is designed for, not going toe-to-toe with a Warhammer.
