Well, when you have large numbers all of the same mindset, spamming is what they are going to do.Then they whine and ***** when someone actually out spams them? lol The thing that makes me laugh with these lot is they drop these lines of, "community of nonfactor grognard neckbeards." " and oldboys club?" basically just taking the ****. Then get bent out of shape when someone calls them on their true colours? Now again that's laughable.

So far there has been nothing positive about their entrance to the BT community here, it has been nothing but constant ****-taking and whining threads about how they can make this game better for themselves. Why should people listen to that?

You are not a member of Something Awful, you are a twit with an account that got immediately probated for your embarrassingly poor attempts at trolling. Your personal failings have nothing to do with any game or any online community, you have nothing of value to add to discussions, and if you have been convinced to leave this game by the harsh welcome you received there then I believe the SA crew has done a favor to everybody.

I don't even say this as an SA member, because as far as these things go I don't really count. I speak simply as someone who is literate.

I guess you're an SA member then. :) lol

You know, Sammy, one thing I think we can both agree on is that you and goons probably both wish this forum had an ignore list. So we could all put eachother on it and go our separate ways. You're not even entertaining enough to not put on ignore if it was available.

I think you've been reading a different thread in an alternate universe on a different forum. Hell even George Ledoux has been calling you out for being a whiny malcontent.

With few exceptions our posts have simply been to point out that you make accusations with no factual backing in any known reality, and to reiterate what we've been saying. You're lack of rational or sane thought is astounding, and has bred much joy for us. Thank you for all of your rage tears and all the laughter you've provided. Don't ever change Samuikaze.

Being afraid of the goons is like being afraid of watching television because they might say something offensive to whatever minority you belong to - in this case, big doo-doo heads worldwide.

This caught my eye, and reminded me of the runaway top poster on the forums, the incredibly anti-goon Adridos.

You got probated your first day for a stream of awful posting. You're only as much a "member" of SA as you paid :10bux: at the door and then were promptly thrown out. You're like someone paying a cover charge at a club only to pick a fight with the nearest bouncer. If you don't bother learning our rules, we won't bother accommodating you, it's as simple as that.

We have given you a great evil to rally against. At the end of the day you say that we have done nothing positive to the game but have you not noticed the average player getting better. Utilizing things like AMS in groups even mimicking our play-style and strategies because they are effective. The average player is becoming more skilled just by fighting against us. This topic has come up multiple times in our groups, the the player base is evolving to try to counter our strategies and sometimes their tactics are effective. To imply that we are a giant unstoppable evil is to instantly discredit your playing ability and that of every single other player in the game as well as implying that the devs have no control of the game. I for one think that the rest of the player base and the devs deserve a little more respect than what you have given them.

Bunch of space fowl... with your secret clubhouse full of hard-to-follow rules... chicken scratch forum signatures... and... and... overtly factual dissertations on meta-gaming and egalitarianism... Why don't you all just get online and show us how it's done?!?!

I don't know much about goons besides what I've read since visiting this topic and it's related links. From what I can tell, the goons bring serious gaming to whatever game they decide to play. I personally like that, even though I'm more of a casual gamer and will probably be trounced time and again. I also love the link that was previously mentioned to the ongoing Battletech game on Something Aweful. I find the narrative of PoptartsNinja(the OP of the thread) to be very well done and entertaining.

As for the meta-gaming, I consider it LARP. Be afraid of the goons, love them or hate them, it's good drama.

Absolutely agree. PoptartsNinja is quite an entertaining writer who writes professionally for the Battlecorp site as well.
He wrote a Solaris Arena BT game scenario that while describing an exciting, multi-level arena battle with alliances changing regularly, also showcases a young arena champion, Duncan Fisher, who's been invited to join the regular host in the Solaris broadcast booth.

I kind of loved that particular scenario. ;)

Supremacist, fortunately your opinion what is nullified and what not is of no importance.

Grow up.

To go even further, you are of no importance. THE HORROR!

Grow up.

Other Goons expressed their concern of an established old boys club. I just suggested, the community might be more welcoming, if the Goons would not form their own subculture in this forums. I like the fluff, but I have no intention of imposing it on others. I think everyone here can have fun without problems. We just have to get to the lowest common denominator and that's fighting big robots. That's fine for me. Just saying, you might have an easier time here if you not rub your refusal of BT fluff under everyones nose.

Grow up Supremacist.

I'm looking forward to some nice games with you.

Seriously? lol Okay, so you lot are not bad for the community here? Lets have a look at the type of exploitation junk you pulled over in Eve. Maybe some here are actually ignorant to these types of things you get up to [and no doubt you will be getting up to here as well.]

Quote

If there's one constant in the EVE Online universe, it's that the players can never be underestimated and every care must be taken to make sure systems can't be abused in unintended ways. In 2009, a handful of players figured out how to artificially boost the number of valuable faction warfare loyalty points rewarded for completing missions and farmed enough ISK to build a titan. That record was completely blown out of the water today as five EVE players revealed how they'd generated five trillion ISK using game mechanics introduced in the Inferno expansion.

Inferno added a new reward system for faction warfare that gave players loyalty points for enemy ship kills based on the value of the destroyed ship and cargo. A bug was found that rewarded players for both the destroyed and surviving cargo, even though surviving cargo could be recovered. GoonWaffe pilot Aryth and four friends began destroying their own freighters full of minerals to cash the minerals out into loyalty points, which were then used to buy items for sale.

When CCP discovered this bug and fixed it, the group manipulated the market price of one of the game's least-purchased items up to a huge number. When the price index for the value of that item updated, the players began destroying haulers full of them to generate billions of loyalty points for almost nothing. The points were cashed out into items for sale on the market, producing a total profit of over five trillion ISK. The abuse has not yet been declared an exploit, but CCP has fixed the issue and is still investigating it. At current market prices, five trillion ISK is enough to buy around 10,000 30-day game time codes worth a total of $175,000 US.

Note: It was declared an exploit and what could be recovered was taken away from the 5, but what they filtered off into other multiple accounts all over the game the CCP will never know.

Strive to win by any means, right? Yes, the above is your true colours, it's what you do in games. Then your fairy cake Mittani there has got the nerve to sit on that NGNG podcast and boast on how you guys are going to mess this place up as well?

The typical kind of comment that follows these guys from people who have played Eve goes like this;

Quote

RobRallapalli
One of the reasons I stopped playing and subscribing to eve-online, Goonswarm has wrecked this game just as they did the last game they played, and just how they promised they would do to eve-online. They exist only to wreck games, driving players away, until there are so few left, they can say they won, and no one will argue it because there is no one left to listen to their ****. CCP didn't ban them when their leader, the Mittani, encouraged thousands of players to harass a player to commit suicide, while laughing about it on a world-wide web cast.
When goonies declare victory - no one cares.

The link says a hell of a lot about the nature of the character who leads this lot and those who wish to follow him.

So, I wonder, when these lot happen to find exploits here [and no doubt they'll be striving hard to do that] what the devs are going to do about it? Allow these characters to get away it and exploit this community as they have done in Eve and elsewhere? They indeed are a smart bunch that likes to wreck things, then sit around gloating about it whilst on a dysfunctional ego trip.

And yes, they are the bad guys but not because they out class anyone, they are the bad guys because they, exploit, cheat and harass their way around game mechanics and people. So the question is to you lot, do think they'll make for a better gaming experience? [George?]

It's nothing to do with rage tears and all to do with simply informing the community here [and others that come to it] what kind of "intelligent" gaming trash you are and what's to come. Oh and yes, yes ... I know you have members that are in to BT, in to the lore and such, who that just want to play the game and get involved. Yet that's not going to happen is it? Because your leadership side, runs, lives and breathes griefing. Mittani says jump you lot say "how high?"

To those that read this, you may not like the way I put things across. You may not think these lot are anything to worry about, that they're a non-issue. Still, if they are allowed to run rampant through this game unchecked, exploiting and griefing to their hearts content it will do nothing for this game but hurt it and turn it into a dive hole and an utter waste of time. Eve is that kind of dive hole now, a place that many are tired of for what it has become simply dew to characters like these lot.

So, expect mech exploits coming to fights real soon, courtesy of of this lot. Unless that is, you want to get involved in exploiting and greifing in game and join in with them, then I'm sure their'll friends and take you for their ride.

And there you have it.

Used a game mechanic in an unintended way forcing the devs to fix the issue. It was later declared to be an exploit, and I don't see anything mentioning it was us that did it. (This is the any factual basis bit btw) As for if we do find exploits in MW:O perhaps they will take the sane route that CCP took and fix the problem. (This is the bit about us improving and challenging the devs and players of said games)

EVE isn't MWO (This is the rational bit)

The incident in question here has been gone over ad nauseum, and I seem to recall some mention of it being declared harassment on these forums to keep bringing that video up. As to that post as a whole regarding the broadcast concerning The Mittani's actions it also provides no evidence that Goons ever intend to destroy any game as you and those babbling loons like you seem to suggest. We play to have fun, and not everyone likes our sense of humor. (This is the alternate reality bit)

If it was all simply to inform the community, well others such as you have been "providing" the same half assed tin foil hat arguments since PringlesPCan DARED to weigh in on how he thought Community Warfare should work in a very well thought out and sourced post on the subject. At which point people like you attacked him for being a goon. Nothing to do with what he was actually saying. It was the half-brained foaming at the mouth vitriol which those like you began spewing at us that lead to the drama on these forums. (This is the don't ever change bit)

We have been here since the first day these forums were opened to the public. We were content to simply be part of the community and we were doing no harm. Inform the community that you brought this mess and this drama. In the mean time we will gladly continue to laugh at the gnashing of teeth that our mere presence brings to the paranoid grognards of these forums.
