Correct plural form of mech names that people commonly get wrong:
Atlas --> Atlai
Jenner --> Jennai
Awesome --> Awesomese
Dragon --> Bulldozers

Not the whole thing... us still doesn't equal as, plus its greek, plus whatever else.

Lets all just call the plural "Atlas Mechs" by using the second noun it negates the need to pluralize the first noun. Because english is cool like that.

I would suggest you watch it all - the lady points out some important points.
She points out that octopus, too, is Greek, so 'octopi' is incorrect.
She also points out that the convention when foreign words are incorporated into English is to put a regular English ending on it.

i.e. us != as is irrelevant, considering the point of the whole video.

I do agree with your suggestion though. However, if someone in my team says "atli" or some variation thereof, I will use "atlases" in every way imaginable, just to irritate them.

If you go back to the original word and what the plural of that word was, you'll find it is Atlantes.. so if we all want to be "correct" that would be the correct plural form of the word..

However.. what matters is what the modern language considers it to be... Atlases sounds good to me.. and everyone knows what you mean.. it's not correct.. but it's understandable etc

It even has two pronunciations. British English (and associated commonwealth countries like Ausland) say "Alu-MIN-ee-um", as opposed to the American "A-LOO-min-um".
