OK i know that this is a little off topic but hear me out.

While the argument for collective nouns is all great fun, the truth of the matter is that in a battle situation (which is why we are all here) you would be better off advising of the gravity of an enemies deployment by advising your lance mates of the total tonnage as an estimate. so...

Rather than announcing that you have stumbled upon 3 Atlases (Atili) (Attleprattles etc)

Well, that's it folks. Koshack has inadvertently solved this whole thing. More than one Atlas are called Attleprattles

There isn't a debate. Why is it still going?
It's Atlases if you're smart.
It's Atlai if you're an idiot.
That's all there is to it.

Sigh...there is only one Atlas. Therefore it is Atlas. Multiples are nothing more than facsimiles of the original and do not count.

"I count 5 Atlas, 3 Jenners, and 2 Awesomes in grid D5" - nothing about that sounds wrong, because it isn't. Grammar whores can go home now!

A friend of mine calls them "Fatlases" - which I suppose could easily be simplified to Fatasses, or if you prefer, Fatties.

Ah, brings back memories of the HWGuy in TFC.

Dude, that's 10 mechs in one square of the grid. Nothing about that sounds right...
