That's one of the reasons I chose House Kurita Roughneck. I also study the samurai and bushido.

That is one of the reasons why I HATE house Kurita: Bushido is an outmoded philosophy, designed by warlords, in order to control masses of stupid, gullible, people. Samurais were homosexuals before European Christians made contact with Japan, that is a historical fact you can look it up.

Samurais were also inferior to contemporary warriors, they never really fought against anyone who wasn't using the same technology and fighting technique, so they suffered from massive military inbreeding. Do to a fluke of nature, they never even really fought the Chinese or mongols because most of the invading ships sunk before they reached Japan, otherwise the Samurais probably would have been slaughtered wholesale.

Samurais, like their Katana swords, are vastly overrated. I'd take an English 1795 pattern cavalry sabire, or Ottoman Kilij over a Samurai sword anyday, And If had to bet I would put my money on a occidental Knight, their armor was vastly superior, their weapons hit harder and were designed as combat arms, instead of decorative art mainly worn as status symbols and only really good for cutting down unarmed peasants who refuse to pay their taxes (Tribute) to the local warlord *cough* Katana *cough* I mean, hell Samurais didn't even use shields! Every major warrior culture in history has used shields! Only an inbred caste of warriors who spent their entire history playing with themselves on an isolated island would not use shields!

I'm sensing "The Ultimate Warrior: Battletech Edition" will be on TV in the next few months?

Hehehe.

I just hate totalitarians and aristocrats, Samurais included. I also hate over rated music & culture icons and 1990's fads, Samurais included...

Says someone who likes Vikings. A really ethical bunch which had top of the line weapons and they had perfect morale, etc.

Don't make critic on something you know nothing about.

Actually Vikings did have fairly decent weapons circa 8th century AD. A 6'2 Viking Huscarl with mail coat, alder wood round shield and a great Danish axe would cut a Katana wielding leather or Lamelar armored, shieldless, Samurai into pieces.

Obviously morale varied a lot among the different raiders from different locals and throughout history, but it was generally average to excellent and they were very good at destroying the morale of their enemies in very ingenious ways.

And Norse society was actually very democratic compared to other European cultures of the time. They had a simple legislative assembly called an "all thing" where every free man in a community could voice his concerns and vote on contentious issues. Thier Kings (such that they were; Norse settlements were geographically isolated wihich forced even the most "unified" of kingdoms to be decentralized) where oftent voted in, and could be voted out and even killed as a human sacrifice to Odin if they performed poorly.

It is hard to argue that the average man in Feudal Japan had a similar level of individual freedom.

I am loyal to the celestial throne and the Capellan Confederation for three reasons:
(1: They are THE underdog/survivor.(always love turning a war around and crushing some arrogant ****)
(2:Since there is no USA-in-space(and no the fedrats are NOT even close to a free government) I chose the Capellans. If one can not have the perfect government one can at least have the government that provides the most necessary cohesion and unity(even if by force).
(3:I have always liked the mentality that, "We are going to get back every world that we lost!" The Capellans have never surrendered the worlds that were stolen from them, even when it was the "glorious" star league that did the taking. We do not abandon our worlds. We have very long memories!

Everyone likes to talk trash. Mainly *cough* Kuritans *cough*, while FRR are close second. Clans like to talk a lot too, but they do not lie, sadly. :o

Just try being a Liao for a while. Talk with us, have our banner and look at some lore. You can always change, anyway. Only thing you would regret doing is joining FedCom, really. :D

Tsk, tsk, tsk, accusing the honorable ladies and gentlemen of the Draconis Combine to talk trash. We of the FWL have no issues whatsoever with their verbal behaviour. Keep in mind, dear Sir, if it weren't for the arguing of the DC on your capellan behalf, you would still sit cowering in your mudholes waiting for the mighty fist of the FWLM to strike down on you!

...lie with us, get backstabbed by us, etc. There is a reason why capellan representatives claim to not talk trash... they often symbolize it with their whole behaviour! As members of a union of states who has endured being a neighbor to the capellan conglomerate, we can remember a lot of that.

At least the members of the FWL and representatives of House Marik can only be accused to speak with many tongues usually instead of having a unified position. And that, as unsettling it might be for some of our esteemed opponents, is a legacy of the FWL's cultural and socio-political heritage. Not of borderline sociopathic behaviour of the ruling house like some other entities we could mention here... again... :o

It's the edit function malfunction. I edited it, because it was a mistake, seems the system did not recognize it. :D
