Looking at the table top stats for the Dragon it has only 20 shots for its autocannon. This is with two tons of ammo. This works for the table top but in realtime one will run out of ammo much faster.
Especially since players are going to be firing it more than once every 10 seconds.
Compared to a medium laser that does the same table top damage that is a problem in a match that will go on for 20 mins.
Aesthetically I want the autocannon to spit out an impressive looking stream of death with a satisfying roar.
Effectiveness should be slightly better than a laser of the same class as the laser has long outclassed the autocannon on a per ton basis even factoring in additional heat sinks.
Looking at the catapult you will note that it has twice the medium lasers of the dragon and the heat sinks to use them. Unless the autocannon is scary then the catapult is superior at every range and it's only weakness vs the dragon is slower speed.
Let the autocannon spit hot death like it has longed to do for ages.

MWLL managed to make ACs scary, they actually had to bump up RAC costs in the last patch and people still hate on the partyvan for spamming AC5s, especially early, since they make such short work of lights. It was all in giving them good damage output with nice range.
