Going back to do some "old-school" repaints? Still, it's nice as ever.

Too bad marketing team holds the battlemech 16 down, this thread seems like a dried out oasis without a steady stream of new amazing repaints.

Right? I'm holding out hope that 16 is gonna be something REALLY spectacular... I just don't know. Or maybe they're at a point where they feel they no longer need to post up images of 'mech concepts?

They always need the image to make the model for the game. That makes sure they have them and giving the community an option to see it that way goes a long way (this thread is the best example). And some of them surely like the repaints.

So I made this just today, I'd say it took me thirty minutes. My first repaint using FireAlpaca.

A little more detail could've went into it. For instance, one of the legs has the "back part" painted in blue, while the other has not.

It's a good effort, and not a lot of us are actually capable, without a great deal of study and patience, to do it, so yes.

It's nice, there is a lot to improve, but everyone had to start somewhere and this looks pretty good.

For instance, one suggestion I would have is to expand the paint scheme around cockpit to the whole upper torso and find some good color for legs. Maybe use a different kind of color, or use special layers, etc.

But I'm no artist myself and as it's said: "Those who know, do. Those who don't, become critics."

Oh if only I had Photoshop, I could expand upon the colors much farther then the ranges of blues and reds.

Actually, I was refering to the 'Federated Sun' beneath the cockpit. The general run of colors seems (to me) to be done quite well!

An Atlas I made with the same print (well, similar, but close) as the 'Manly' National Rugby League team's home jersey.
Sorry if the logos don't stand out very well.
