Allright...this evening i have al little present for the "1st Blackburn's Raiders". Hope you enjoy it!

These light-gray was a beast to balance betwen 3d software and the gameengine. For these i had to retouch the "master-shader" again.

Did you try and take a picture of how would those textures look in CE3 SDK? Just curious how would they actually look in the game.

It would look something like this but this is also no reference how they would look ingame... i dont know pgi's shader-work.

Edit: this was a fast import to cry sdk...i have not touch'd or optimized the textures for the cryengine.

Btw... next i want to do a little scene for these models. I think about a scene like in the trailer ( the atlas at the dropship). Or the hangar like the mechlab.

I would try to do it in both engines but in kind of import-workflow/ user-friendlyness, i still prefer the unreal-engine.

What would you prefer? any other idea's?

I liked what IH did on his Ascendant Star Orion so I wanted to try my hand at it. Though, since the Treb is getting released on the 19th, I thought I would do it up in one.

I tried to give it a battle worn appearance. Also I did not know whether to do it in yellow or ivory so I did them in both, heh.

If I missed something or need to correct something, lemme me know and I will get it fixed.

It's great looking, altough you could've made the filters stick out less.

I tried working on that ( I haven't mastered GIMP yet and no Photoshop ) it was making everything look too faded and dull and losing the the coloring that I wanted esp. with the Ivory kept making it look too grayish and losing its pearly off white color. I am also trying to get the filters / masks to look more of a light perspective feel (darken some areas more to show the shadow being cast by the mech on the other areas of the mech and the of course the shadow I added to the ground. Just need to figure out how to make it look better. as GIMP can be somewhat frustrating at times :)

Regarding the damage effects, how are you going to go for the depth? I'm kinda stuck there too...it looks so.... flat.

I would like to know how to make the damage actually look like it's going into the mech.

any thoughts?

Great work on this piece... You make it become so... real! It really looks like my make-belief paintshop story where Hayden pays the AH a visit comes to life. Thanks so much!

Now, because I started painting 'Mechs in late January last year, I never got to give love to the Jenner before. So I decided to build a template from scratch for it and give it a go.

1st up: Amphigean Light Assault Group - Ironhawk Sauce! (you'll notice it is quite different from Hayden's, including the insignia) Hope you enjoy.

Well, I am thinking for the damage effects, I am gonna have to do some modding and graphic work, but also I am thinking I am gonna have to work it like a tattoo. Meaning, I am gonna have to use blacks and grays to give it depth. I thought the damage effect on the two arms and lower CT came out pretty good as far as depth and make it look like the outer armor is "melted". I do however need to make a brush texture for "scorched" area.

I am also gonna make a graphic/brush for ballistic strikes.

Hy everyone,

i have not done much of this "art" an maybe some are not so good but i have allways earnd very kind word's from you!

Today this should be the first step in giving something back to u.

Sadly, this is for Gimp user's only. Sorry.

I have done this .xcf (template) from scratch... i only take Ironhawks text from his pic's as a reference.

Have masked the lights, cockpit and so on the same way as the body. On this was you can recolor it yery fast without the body. Removed the camo/ decals also.

Atm i dont know where i should upload this .xcf but you can also send me a pm with your email and i will send it.

Hope with this i can make someone happy :lol:

I have been tolerant about humor and some de-facing before, but when you put your own time to depict canon and custom art on FD's concept art and suddenly this:

...And PGI posts the latter on its official Facebook account, something is fundamentally wrong. I have huge respect for PGI. This however tells me fan artists may not always deserve the same. PGI handpicked fan repaint pics would probably please fans more actually; this meme got so-so critique, including a few ones on the AC being on the wrong side which was not my mistake.

I know Hayden will tell me it's a misunderstanding.

The fact is memes are far more active and widespread form of easy to do fan "art" which has a massive audience due to it's relative simplicity. Enjoying a great piece of artwork 9/10ths of the playerbase probably doesn't even know about is a less general form of spending a few minutes of your time.

Besides, it's just Facebook... things that require any kind of mental activity above that of a small kid don't belong there.

but... those are 2 totally separate paint schemes...... in fact differing Models of the Atlas.

They are in fact the same, with 2 main changes in the de-facing: 1) skin of the original ported on the mod I did following the Atlas trailer, 2) some changes to the theme to make it Highlander. Look closely at the details and you'll see.
