I'm excited to learn how to make a template so I can carry this knowledge further into other games and other hobbies. Funny what a little inspiration and need can do for you, and I hope it turns into something I can help others with as that's a reward in and of itself.

You need to edit the cockpit, you covered up a lot of the glass. Two panels on the front, one on the top, and one on the side.
Rest of it's choice

Once this week is over I'll have more time to attempt my own template, work and concerts have me locked out till after sunday.
*EDIT*
Also, larger versions of their art from Mechwarrior's Google Plus page
https://plus.google....762003975772161
Just going to have to find a blank background to apply them to to make our own templates.

EDIT: NO, I don't like it, I hate it. This looks so bad, I did a horrific job on masking the joints out, and the mech is destroyed after I "cleaned" up the Phoenix Paintjob from it.
I mean, look at this:
Vs this:
I'm afraid I'm way less good at this than I expected.

It can take guts to admit you're bad at something but the real measure of yourself is what you do after.
Try using the non Phoenix variants from this https://plus.google....762003975772161 it will be a lot easier to do. Then, take one of the backgrounds from an existing template and use that.
That you're making the attempt is pretty big I think, and I'm hoping you and I both learn how to do it a lot better so we can help give back to the community that has given us so many great repaints.

I just wish they'd give us the actual concept arts for them like they did the rest of the 'mechs, it'd make it so much easier. And can't make a good Wolverine nor Griffin right now either since they don't have larger versions of the non Phoenix versions.
Though, having no background might be a good thing...may make it easier to block out sections since you don't have anything beyond the 'mech itself to worry about.

Battlemaster Template
Completely redone the template. The previous one was terribad, I hope this one is better.
How to use:
You can change the colors in the "COLOR HERE!" layer, which is marked blue on the right of your screen.
You can change the text in the bottom right of the template too, this layer is marked green.
The red marked layers should not be changed, this is only for professionals, because you can screw up your whole paintjob with them.
Remember to use "Control + Z" to undo mistakes.

You can use this template for everything you want, just please do not erase my name from it.
Have fun painting!

So here is my take on the Atlas Hunters, rather than do their scheme, I want to do an operational camo, "war-torn", weathered, and otherwise in-combat. Hope, you like it IH.

The horriffic letters "No signal" showed up in his Cockpit.
"Echelon 2 are you hearing me? Echelon 2 I repeat! John, Carter, Katlyn, anyone?"
He just heard static noises.
"Guys, we lost Echelon 2. Stay close, we are getting out of here!" he said into the microfone, his voice fulfilled with fear.
"Affirmative" he heard 3 voices saying.
They ran for their lifes. Speeding with almost 150 kilometers per hour his lance crushes through the woods of the battlefield.
"Warning, incoming missile"
"****! Incoming, get cover and activate AMS!"
It was almost to late. He could see the swarm of the Clan LRMs raining down on his Raven, but the main salvo was just about to come.
"Run! Activate MASC, we habe to get out of here!!"
"I'm doing my best sir, but - cchhhrrrrrr"
He could see Sgt. Marc Bennett's Raven tripping over and falling into the muddy ground. But he could also see the Evacuation Seat rising up into the dark sky.
Suddenly, the LRMs stopped. And the Mortar Fire stopped too.
He looked in the direction where the enemy fire was coming from and saw three big explosions. These kind of explosions exploding Clan Reactors do when they are completely destroyed.
"This is 1st Leutnant Walther Hoffmann, 1st Company of the Tamar Jägers. We are here to save your Davion a**es. Ladies and Gentleman, sit back and enjoy the firework."
A gigantic explosion shook their mechs...
