In a sentence you would say "all the atlas' in the area", instead of "all the atlai in the area" or "all the atlases in the area." This isn't kindergarten ladies and gentleman, wake up.

**Same respect as "look at all the deer", you don't say "look at all the deerai" or "look at all the deers"

I refer to hostile groups of atlas as "atlases" because I feel they are unworthy of being called Atlai, which I only reserve for true squads of skilled atlas pilots.

hmmm i hold the origin of communication dear and it's correct usage through the true workings of english's founding languages latin and in this case greek. that's why i liked this post.

truth be told a figurative group of atlas has not been given a plural definition, so people have voted for one made up expression and the other in refference to architecture or maps. even at·lan·tes is used for descriptions of statues not beast/s or machines. atlases or atlai do not describe a unit/quantity of persons and/or stompy robots.

As a non-native English speaker, I'm just wondering why are you talking about "atlai" instead of "atli"?

The plural of fungus isn't fungui, it's fungi. So shouldn't it be atli?
