Indeed, we, atlai, as a whole most conclude it, not a lone atlas can bear such a deed.

While your post was quite reasonable, you're wrong about Atlantes. It's arguably the 'proper' plural but for the fact that we educated all these plebs but without teaching them the classical languages, so they don't know better than to add -s or -es as if it were some sort of English word. ;-)

Not to be pedantic, but Atlantes is the pluralization of atlant (also known as atlas), which is a pillar in the form of a man.
It's an architectural term, and using the pluralization of atlant for the proper noun Atlas is still incorrect.

So how do we pluralize a proper name like Atlas? The answer is debatable because no prior usage exists.
Ultimately Atlases wins out because it's grammatically correct in both English and Greek.

No, sorry, you're not being pedantic, you're being wrong. It's the plural and that's because the stem of Atlas is Atlant-. In any case but the nominative and vocative, it adds the case ending to that stem.

That plural works in English, not in (Ancient) Greek.

"A little knowledge..." ;-)

None of the above.
The plural of Atlas is Atlas.

What is the plural of Abrams (tank)?

One Abrams. Two Abrams.

One Atlas. Two Atlas.
Two Dire Wolf
Two Timberwolf
Two Hunchback
Thirty Five Thunder Hawk

First of all, Atlantes seems to be using a Latin pluralization rather than Greek.
Second, how is this not the nominative case? I guess I could see arguing accusative if we were talking about piloting the Atlases...

Don't worry as I'm sure one day you will all be lined up and asked one by one at the end of a plasma rifle.
