Though I have a BA in English, I still support the use of Atlai, as it provides fun and humor for the community. The nay-sayers should not get worked up over it.

Simple...Its atlas (or Fatlas). Im the only one worth note.

I believe the plural however, is 'cowards'. Though I comonly refer them as 'Gumbies'

Ah, are you one of those people who believe in mass homicide?

Because if not, choose your words carefully.

"Atlai" is , as far as i know, a word that simply does not exist. Even if you look it up in Google the searchengine thinks you mistyped and leads you towards "Atlas". You can proof me better if you show me the page in the Oxford English Dictionary or whatever you american/canadians students use as dict at university where it says "Atlai" is a plural of "Atlas". But i doubt you'll find one. It's either "Atlasses" or "Atlas" (pl.). So this discussion is really nonsene. Stick to "Atlasses" or "Atlas".
Or use "Atlai". No one on his world cares anyway.

*btw i have to leave now because i have 2 atlai hunting my back*

Well then, if you don't like people projecting what you say, try not to project what the poll is about without reading at least some part of it (in which case I guess it wouldn't be projection?).
Although, to be fair, people have been posting without reading for entire pages by now, so the point of the thread has been somewhat lost.

To inform you, it's a joke. Of course we know Atlai isn't the right plural. But it's fun to use, and fun to proclaim to people who seem to be taking us seriously.

Atlai just sounds like some government agency. Sounds kind of stupid. Atlases is longer to say...but makes more sense.

Personally, I think that the real term should be like fish. Atlas is singular AND plural.
