I know folks are pushing hard for recruiting and what not...but can someone who has the ins and outs, please explain how actually creating a Merc Company in the game will take place or point in the right direction the rules for creating a Merc Company in the game?

Thanks in Advance guys. Looking forward to fighting with/against you.

If you mean how do I register a merc company in the game, then I'd like to know that myself.

I'd also like to know about hiring/getting paid as a mercenary. Is there a system that's going to be established with in game money, or will it be settled out of game by the various players?

Dev Blog 1: Community Warfare

That's as much as I've seen for now... could be more information out there but again... for now, that's all I've seen on the subject... so not much is known at this time as far as I know...

There are a couple of things you will want to do to set up a unit. First go to http://mwomercs.com/...merc-corp-page/ and add your unit name to the list. Also, the second post in that thread allows you to quickly add your unit to the MWO wiki.

Once you have that set up I suggest taking a look at The Hiring Hall which can be found here: http://mwomercs.com/...94-hiring-hall/

To update this thread, here are a few things you might find to be of interest, apart from what has already been posted which, for the most part, remains viable...

http://mwomercs.com/...re-association/ <- News on permission setups and how Merc Units will operate

http://mwomercs.com/...e-inner-sphere/ <- This was the plan at the end of last year, and PGI have come a long way on this list since

And, that's pretty much it, for now. Boy, could we use a major update on at least the Merc Unit Creation module, and something updated for Unit Management, please?

Great point, Kay. I think even the most optimistic of us can get discouraged over the seeming lack of progress. However, your pointing to the plan that was laid out has shown many that we are moving along according to schedule. The concern now is when will we see the next two major aspects noted in that post: Associate, and Planetary Conquest.

I will point to an "app" if you will they call "The Plan." http://www.mwomercs.com/theplan

This tracks the progress of given items in development and gives descriptions about them. You guys dig in and have a look around. I don't know how often it's updated and what measurements they're using, but it's something to help keep you updated.

I visit The Plan at least once a month, sometime two or three times -and I've been keeping records of percentages and changes for my Merc Unit's blog-, and EVERY time I've gone there to look it's been different, things added, percentages updated, explanations tweaked, so I would say it's updated quite a lot, and is a resource I use fairly often. In fact, I've not been there since it was announced that the next module in work is the Merc Unit Creation system, so I need to go take a look.

One of the guys in another unit on my TS server thinks we could see units as early as the next patch. I'm not that optimistic and think we'll see it in August, probably second patch. But that's just my hunch.

Mercenary Unit Association is sitting at 60%, this morning, up from 25% in the middle of March, which is a significant jump considering the Launch Module, Clans, a complete rewrite of the Matchmaker, continuing improvements to the back-end and UI 2.0, and 3/3/3/3 becoming effective. Also, I'm pretty sure the 25% was a *****-placeholder, to keep the community from becoming more inflamed than normal. I would be willing to bet nearly all of that progress has come since the Matchmaker was launched Tuesday-before-last. My feelings, however, is that we will see it as either the first or second-week Tuesday patch in August.

Bear in mind, however, that the Merc Unit Creation module is likely going to be VERY simple to start off with. A database of people, a short form to fill out, and few if any management tools. However, with changes in the Matchmaker now completed to support getting units on the battlefield, together, which will be a nice boon, I think, even though at our best times we are able to field a single Lance, right now, we will begin to see the battlefield shift toward the better, and I think that's only positive. My only hope is that, when PGI separates the Clans from the Inner Sphere, that I won't lose all of my people. There are three of us, out of twelve right now, who pilot Inner Sphere 'Mechs regularly, still.

Everyone just had to have the new shiny. Clan toys are lighter, build less heat, take fewer critical slots, have longer ranges, their double heat sinks can displace heat better, meaning the Clan 'Mechs can fit more, that if PGI doesn't see a tonnage advantage in them, I would be very highly surprised. I still stick with my 1 Clan 'Mech ton should equal between 1.2 and 1.35 Inner Sphere tons, and that's how drops between Clans and Inner Sphere should be calculated.
