MWO vs Hawken

Anyways, MWO, is just a slower paced, mech simulator. I don't see how it requires strategy at all. To be honest, Hawken looks more fun to me. It looks more interesting. I don't care if it's fast paced or doesn't require as much "skill". I'll play whatever is more fun. The only unique thing about MWO is that it simulates a mech experience. That's it. Put your fanboyism aside and realize the truth people.

Fanboy/girlism? For siding with a franchise we're fans of? I don't think you know what fanboy/fangirl means.

You realize that giant walking mechs is exactly what an army would *never* want, right? I mean, it's awesome to stomp around in, but in reality, what you have is a giant walking target, perfect for getting swatted by guided missiles fired from distances they couldn't possibly strike back from. Add to that the fact that said machines are going to be far heavier than what the BT universe describes, and can't be hidden, those smaller mechs are looking a lot better in a tight urban setting.
That said, I still have a great affinity for the BT universe, despite some goofiness.

you can't see how a 50 to 100 tonne, slow moving walking tank requires strategy to be used, position itself and destroy other 50 to 100 tonne slow moving walking tanks? Wow someone doesn't know alot about mech games, so please go play hawken.
Now thats out of the way. I will probably play both cause there are times when I want to play a simulator and play a game that requires team tactics and good positioning. But other times I just want to move around the battlefield fast and blow **** up. So both are promising to me.
But the biggest question is which one will last? And thats going to come down to customisation and balance. I dont think any of us here can say I play a mech game to just play in a mech. But I play so that I can fully customise my loadout to create the ultimate machine of war. Also we need it to be balanced cause if one weapon or system is more powerful then anothers, then everyone will use it and there will be not need to customise.

Oh wow... I didn't think anyone else played Phantom Crash. XD
Yeah, I totally got that vibe from it when I saw the videos. Less cartoony, but yeah, a bit like that.

Hawken is the 'mech equivalent of C.O.D. MWO is a MW game, it wasn't designed to appeal to a bunch of kids who don't like taking strategy into consideration and just want to run at each other and fire their guns and hope they shoot the right part of the enemy. When things are moving that fast and in (from what I can see) confined war zones then all you get is a giant clusterf...udge of explosions and running behind cover. I'm not talking about the tribes style of speed here where everything is about predicting movements and knowing how fast to come off which cliff to get the best distance for a flag cap or which area to fire a fractal grenade at to choke off the enemies escape so you can lock them down in an area that you're better in.
I'm fairly sure asking this question in the MWO forums is going to get you a lot of biased asnwers my friend, asking it in the Hawken forums will get you an utterly different set of results but with less grammar and punctuation. All I'm saying is that when I watch Hawken...I see nothing to it, it's just a mess of explosions, speed, health bars and jumping with powerful weapons that can kill in seconds. That generally leaves little time for planning or tactics.
Just my thoughts on the matter, yours might be different.
So you are assuming that anyone who likes Hawken is likely a teenager without a solid grasp of the English language?
Interesting. There is one thing that comes to mind when reading your post. Elitist MW fanboy. Making such assumptions, in my opinion, is quite foolish and makes you look arrogant and immature. There are tons of older COD fans who are very intelligent. Of course there are more young kids who don't know their arse from a hole in the ground, but that explanation is easy. There are simply more people playing COD.
Hawken looks very interesting. It appears to give an old game a new twist. There is nothing wrong with both and I see no reason to insult someone for liking a certain play-style. There's really no reason for it.

Congratulations, you have identified why 90% of the audience this game will enjoy actually play it, and what sets it apart from Hawken.
