Have you considered the implications for the IP closely?

We have made arrangements and/or will make even more with our host etc etc , should the need arise to accommodate our fine faction.

The last thing any of us want are bottlenecks and response effects hindering the enjoyment of the HouseLiao
Membership and the massive activity we expect to come with the launch of MWO.

Cheers

Metro -- I think he's referring to the Intellectual Property rights with respect to House Liao, etc.

We're not looking to make any money off this endeavor -- quite the opposite in fact ::sigh::. Our goal is to help get the word out about MWO and other FASA products to strengthen the franchise and make MWO (and other upcoming Btech games) a fun experience for people. The enhanced site will help strengthen their revenue stream rather than detract from it.

If the powers that be at FASA or otherwise have an issue with Metro owning the urls or with the new site I will be happy to speak with them about it. I am an attorney after all . . .

heh,

thanks fever, =)

I actually thought he was referencing the well being of the community and its membership. My bad.

Either way,

I am not concerned about the IP's as I have owned them for a decade now, and if they were realy important to MS,FASA, or any other publisher, they would own all the DOT COMS pertaining to the Innersphere, alas' they dont.

Thanks again for your work on the updates, much appreciated.

I hear you Metro and I seriously doubt that it will become an issue as well. It would be different if we were seeking to profit from the enterprise and in effect "siphon off" earnings that the IP owners could have made themselves. Absent such activity the likelihood of an issue is almost nil.

Yeah -- they were pretty laid back there and all very cool. I was younger so they gave me a ton of free stuff.

I don't think you will have much trouble with the ip addresses or the artwork as long as you don't rip it directly from the books. A lot of the old material, like insignia's, where produced by Stone Group many years ago. I had obtained permission from Stone directly to utilize them.

I will check to see if I can find some of the artwork used in the past. I have to admit after ISW I kind of got a little heavy handed with my deletion of stuff.

Here in Madison, a local store has 4 of the Mech Pods from the Arcade/Chicago Boardwalk. They used to run 'em, but havent in years, hopefully they'll bring them back on line for MWO.
