All I'll say is overheating in a Jenner as 3 Atlases come into range = super bad idea and one very very... verrrry dead Jenner :)

A.) Who? :)

B.) I don't know how close you are onto that TT rules regarding weapon damage and heat values.
If you're very close, than it would statistically be possible to fire the 4 M-Lasers 9 times in a row grouped together, in walking speed and don't to let it cool down to 0. The 10th attempt will brake your neck! :)
4 M-Lasers 9 times in a row would make a potential damage of 180! Who was at the business-end of that Lasers? And did he survive? ;)

I hope after GDC you'll open up and let us watch thoose test battles via stream. We could place bets. Solaris style. :)

BTW, overheating is everytime a super bad idea, not only in a Jenner. I know from experience. :)

I would imagine that that would depend heavily on the degree of overheating and the situation in which the 'Mech is placed.

For example, some limited overheating would be very useful if one's 'Mech has TSM, has a hatchet and a corresponding set of working actuators, is in overall good condition, and is engaging a 'Mech of the same weight class in close combat... :)

Oh... and I just saw a question a page back...

As for the G940... it's still being worked on. GDC has taken up a lot of people's time so it kinda took a back burner for now. Support for it IS coming... just a matter of time.

And how about the TrackIR, so we can target with our arm weapons using head tracking? :)

I would never show favouritism, I am not made that way.

You have a FedSuns banner... like Metro, a Liao is going to send a invite to a Fed Suns fan. . . You be dreaming sir.

As I said, I would not play favorites.

Probably not the best idea for a mod, who has no special access to the game, to be teasing people and hinting at favoritism. :)

Just sayin'.

Leave the trolling to Paul.

DIHM...I sent you an invite via email, you did not respond. So I had to send it on to someone else. Sorry.

Umm, just to clear things up.

Moderators do not have any power, sway or influence over the game or the developers. We are community members who volunteer our time but other than a little green member group banner denoting us as moderators, and a few extra buttons to push here and there, we are simply players wearing a different hat.

No, moderators do not have any special access to alpha or beta releases and no we can not send out invites to the general public, even if we wanted to we do not have that access nor that power.

That makes the argument on whether Metro would show favoritism or not irrelevant because he simply can't; even if he wanted to.

I understand some of you realize the previous few posts are in jest but to new players who may not be aware? This post is for you!!!

Metro,

You are not an employee of PGI, but by them selecting you as a Moderator, your actions reflect on them. You need to stop this trolling. You have no access to Beta, and need to stop implying that you do. If you did have access to Closed Beta, by this point, you would have lost it for breaking the NDA by consntantly claiming that you do. There will be people who read your posts and take them seriously, and get offended by your claims to have the keys to the Beta when you do not, and never will.

Additionally, you continue to use a signiture in which you proclaim yourself to be the leader of House Liao. PGI has stated repeatedly that the factions will not be player run. With your status as a moderator, this will cause confusion. The position PGI gave you also lends false credibility to your claim of leadership. I could just as easily claim to lead the Capellan Confederation as you do, as neither of us will actually be able to hold that post.

Please do not make PGI look bad for their decision to give you a measure of control over this community.

To be fair on this metro guy, it could just be a joke, and he doesn't expect anyone to *really* believe what he's saying based on how outlandish it is alone.

Plus, he could technically be the leader of the players supporting Liao.

Dihm, our little beardy Dihm. :(

If Metro's signature is bad, what does it say about yours?

Recruiting to a non-existent in-game group of players, giving them hope they will not be mercs, etc. :)

He could technically be the "leader" of SOME of the players (the ones who want to give him that distinction, which no member of the House is required to) supporting Liao and will have no in-game control over anything related to the faction.

3 Atlases vs a jenner. You guys are bullies and should be charged with a hate crime. That's like kicking puppies or killing kittens. Next you'll say the three atlases killed a Stinger or a Wasp or a Urban Mech.

This was such a problem in MPBT:3025 BETA.

Massive egos were unleashed on people who just wanted to try and playTEST that game. All of their so-called experience at "diplomacy"...they couldn't lead me across a street.

I certainly do, yes. I don't know that everyone does. That's my point.

eccentric, hmmm I guess Hitler, Mao and Stalin were a little bit eccentric then? Try homicidal maniac with delusions of grandeur maybe? Killed own family members to gain power, would starve or massacre civilians to prove a point or just because they could. Would slaughter large sections of the population or military leadership to instill fear.

Yep Romano Liao, just a little bit eccentric for sure

chris

Three Atlases, must have been a Steiner Recon lance just scouting.

I'll bet he didn't even help. He just sits in the back and kill steals. His allies turn to him and he just puts on his troll face.
