This is funny as I am sure that when Paul plays against us Aegis, I am sure he will cheat, it seems that we need to find more resources. I for one, would be willing to challenge the PGI team to a Circle of Equals in MW4.

At this rate, Paul is going to have more Arch-nemesis than just me. But it's not like you couldn't say he doesn't deserve it. He'll learn when he sees how, invariably, once the community get their hands on the game, their skills transcends that of those who developed the game. Payback and vengeance will come.

From that "action report", one of the things not mentioned above caught my attention. :P
Paul went with an Atlas and too on A LOT of Jenners by himself.

That suggest one of the 3 things:

People over at Piranha Games are total n00bs. :D

Paul is a "proffesional".

Assaults are even more OP, than in MW 4 days. :D

Now it's the devs turn to answer this (yeah, a crossfire).

To be fair, he did say that the Jenner (In Russ's opinion) was sticking it to him for a bit. Sure he slagged that first Jenner, However, then he had 3 more Jenners on him and had to have a Hunchback (Wonder if it was another Heavy Hunch :D ) help him brush them back...... until Matt C blew his head off.

Yeah he ended up 6-2 for the day, but I'm willing to beat those other 5 kills were 1v1's , out in open terrain, with Paul in an Atlas, and the enemy in a Jenner......

I'd say it's Paul who is the Noob..

Yeah. I said it. I'm not Scared. :P

Paul should invite one of the Atlas Hunters for a private match 1 on 1. :P

I challenge Paul to a match. I will use a flea.

What? You don't think a flea can take an Atlas? Well, it can't if it has limited ammo or if the atlas has real good area-of-effect munitions. I could dodge the rest.

#EDIT: Provided I'm not accidentally stepped on.

#EDIT2: Just remembered an old MW4 match where I was doing my LSM thing. And for the next round, one of my favorite enemy targets just grabbed long-toms. Heh. Hated those things. Hard to be speedy with no legs.

My point exactly, it would have to be modified, *********, now I have to come up with a load out for the Flea that could effectively kill an Atlas, using speed, skill, and no ammo dependency.

Yeah. You couldn't exactly seal that deal with machineguns. Hehe. Even a pair of small lasers could eat through the back plates of any mech, given enough time.

#EDIT: Brought back another fond flashback. After the clan mech packs, I had an Uller fighting two assaults and a medium. All I had (memory might be failing me here) was one medium or large X-pulse laser. I killed the medium and horribly damaged an assault before I went down. *sigh* Seeing Mechwarrior coming to life again brings back many fond memories.

Even for a Canadian, Paul did EXCEPTIONALLY poor.

The other 5 kills were actually merely a scoring bug with Atlas pilots in which team fratricides resulted in a point towards his kills. That'll be fixed by the time the beta rolls out.

Oh, i'm quite sure this unintended "feature" will be squashed before release. It's just unfortunate the other PGI employees have to suffer through his smug gloating.

I REALLY REALLY think PGI could make some money off of Pay for Play against the Devs, or 1V1 Paul Matches.

If I see this Paul guy in a match, I'll be gunning for him. Not out of malice, mind you. But out of friendliness. I want to give him a hug. I want to hug him with a pair of thunderbolt missiles fired from close range into his back plates.

Okay, I have been spending the past couple of hours, and I do believe that I have done it, a flea armed with 4 Clan ER Medium Lasers, or 4 Clan ER small pulse lasers will be able to, but you have to be careful about getting caught around front, as you need to lower the speed completely for the second load out.

I wouldn't even go that far hehe. Two ER meds would be plenty for me. I'd be in no hurry. That hundred tonner wouldn't be going anywhere without me. Patience is a virtue.

Well, I found that with three medium ERs, you could keep a more constant rate of fire, but the 4 had more punch, as for 2, I don't know on that one, maybe, but I had better have backup.

Well, the great thing about using a LSM against a 100 tonner is that it's remarkably easy to stay completely out of their field of fire. Those things turn *slow*. As long as you can turn your 'mech and rotate your torso independently and quickly (I always used RMB to rotate torso), it's pretty easy to establish a circuit run in a sort of loop behind the assault. Then just keep planting shots into their back plates. Weapon almost doesn't matter. (Ammo is a concern, though) There will be mistakes and the assault might do something you don't expect, bringing his cone of fire onto you, but as an LSM, it's not overly difficult to dodge the shot and get back out of the cone of fire.

I'm positive I'm explaining this all very badly, but I was able to do this in MW4 quite reliably. Now, for MWO? The gameplay mechanics can be different. What I did in the past could very well be impossible now. Only time (and maybe some gameplay videos, darn it) will tell.

#EDIT: Never the legs. After MW3 and the whole one-leg-goes-you-die bit, I make every effort not to be a bloody legger. Back plate is a quicker kill anyhow.
