Welcome to the forum, take a moment to read some of the dev blogs/interviews, you should be as pleased as the rest of us with the direction it's going!
Once you get the dev names, doing a search through the forum for just their posts saves a bit of time (since we're over 70K posts already) and gives you a nice feel for how they are approaching things.

totally agree with you, hamster
i have played every mechwarrior game and once bought a second hand nintendo DS just so i was able to play
mechassault phantom war (it s**cked big time) but i can not remember ever to be so excited about the coming
release of a mechwarrior game

on another note mate welcome to the forums and check out the links in the podcast section for the NGNG podcasts if u got about 13hours of time to listen to them lol PK likes to talk allot but they are very informative.

Ok, so I must have just crawled out from under a rock (or huge log... lol), because I JUST learned about this game coming out this year only 2 weeks ago! I am a total MW/BT fan and have played every PC and console game (except for the handhelds) and read a bunch of the novels. The nostalgia is enough to make me want to dig out my old books and relive the Jade Phoenix or Blood of Kerensky trilogies all over again.
Just from these forums alone and the dev blogs, I have some catching up to do!
I am REALLY looking forward to this.. for those of you who remember the BT beta about 11 years ago that never saw the light of day, it pleases me to see a renewed attempt at one of the best sci-fi franchises in gaming. I am playing SWTOR right now and this will definitely pull me away from there the second I can get my paws into a mech.

It took a long time but I finally got into the closed beta. =)
I really hope there are much bigger battles than 8 on 8, if you check one of the other threads I started you will see why that is important to me.
