First of all: Thanks for the 1200+ views on YouTube! It's not much when compared to successful channels, but it's my most viewed video by far and I'm grateful for that.

In other news, I'm hoping to get my problems with the voice acting sorted out very very soon and finally proceed to the final stages of animation, after which the finished film is hopefully not too far away. This has all taken a lot longer than I wanted it too, mostly because certain arrangements for the voice acting fell through because of scheduling issues.

And finally, because I have had so much time I am working on making the look of the CGI sequences more cartoon-like. That was my intended goal from the start but by trying to add more effects and realism I finally ended up making not so good-looking CGI out of it, instead of the emulation of drawn images. So, I decided to go back to the roots and this is what it looks like right now:

I do like the cell shading style you put there even though some people say negative about it I like it as much as the realism style in CGI. I say you go which whatever you feel like. Also the 2d cockpits and such does remind me much of the battletech cartoon though your fan film will be in the much darker tone unlike the official cartoon. I wish you the best of luck in completion of this project

Thanks! I'm a little sorry the trailer does not look anything like the finished movie anymore. My bad. :P

Thank you! I get some of my pointers from the old cartoon that is true. But you are right, my vision is a little darker, even though the shading style and clear line work really do make this all seem a little more "childish" than I intended I suppose. Still looks better and integrates better with the 2D art though.

So far, it is looking good. I like the cell shading and would love to see some animations using it.

Thank you. I am confident that I can use that style in an even better way in the future, but I'm focusing on finishing the movie first. I still have to apologize, but because of some hiccups it takes a lot longer than expected. I do have some help now however and hope to release it within a month, maybe even in 2 weeks.

If you still need voice actors or other sound effects, I've got a heap of British (Primarily Scots) creative sound students I can send your way B)
Loving the look of the trailer, if Warder is the one running the script, it's going to be great!
Must confess I prefer the original CGI to the cellshading, but your vision, not mine :)

Thanks but I have all the voices together now and hopefully won't have much trouble with the sound effects. A friend, who also does the music, might help me with that. As for the style: I was wavering back and forth but I'm set for the full cel shading style now. The style before that was neither here nor there and as someone pointed out just looked like cheap CGI to some. Now the 2D and the CGI elements work together quite well.

I wish you could do a kickstarter for this because I'd contribute in a second.

Very nice of you to say, but of course that is out of the question for many reasons. The most important one being that it has to remain a non-commercial fan film. But hey, it's almost finished anyway. I must say I'm still quite in the mood to do a second one but I don't want to commit to such a large project again for a while.

Thank you both.

I got some news. The film will definetely be released some time this month, as promised and advertised. It will most likely be released either the coming weekend or the weekend afterwards. I will probably do a little more advertising to let you know exactly, as soon as I know.
