Phelan Kell and the 2nd Kell hound Regiment wasn't heard from again around that date so does that mean we get us a nice invasion on early release day?

If you're right, which is unlikely, perhaps this has something to do with why we did not see #16 this week..

Lore crap. Phelan Kell was captured by Clan Wolf's early invasion force around this time in 3049.

Phelan Kell was only with a lance of mechs. He sent the video of his battle back to his unit that returned with the first battle footage of the clans. Kell Hounds didnt lost a regiment.
For about a year there were only contacts in the periphery. The inner sphere houses will not know an invasion is coming for months.

I am in no hurry for the clans arrival, kuritans and capelans are enough to keep me busy and having some serious fun for a long time ! :P

I started re-reading Lethal Heritage to re-acquaint myself with IS history and didn't pick up on this. Also, at that time it was not known where the mechs came from that attacked Phelan Kell but that they were quite a bit more technologically superior.

But it would take months for news to get back about the regiment suffering heavy losses to a unknown foe, and his MIA status.

^^ beat me to it.

yeah but nobody knows its the Clans or who the Clans are.
Most people think its either aliens or Kerensky's heirs come back to help the inner sphere (the latter being what actually happened there where no little green men going around probing people lol) but they didn't come back and help as we all know.

We could possibly (POSSIBLY!) see some clan 'Mechs but you'll be getting your butt kicked by them and not actually be using them!**
Best talk to ComStar they know more than anyone (if you can get them to talk lol)

**This could be done by letting just the Dev team have the clan 'Mechs so when you drop into a game the Dev's have clan 'Mechs and wipe the floor with your lance/lance's but if you manage to damage or destroy some of them you get a lot more credits/XP?

Didn't they say a lot the missions would be in the Periphery? So wouldn't that mean we are more then likely to run into unknown mechs of unknown orgin that kick our butts???

You are all wrong. Phelan Kell never meets the clans. He was simply on a wild bender in the back end of nowhere.

Move along. There are no clans to see here. :P

Don't forget about Wolf's Dragoons they knew what was happening, This is also the time Natasha Leaves back for the clans, and like there are world war 2 conspiracies that England knew about pearl harbor, the rumor is Hanse Davion Knew about the clans already as well.

Come to think of it, I can totally see devs just dropping into a match with a full team of TWs without any prior announcement and it will go like "I'll go check the tunnel...holy crap!"

That would be a pretty cool way to introduce the clan invasion...

Remember news doesn;t travel very fast in the Inner Sphere, and Phaelan disappeared light-years away from the A circuit of the HPG network.

Right now, it's just minor skirmishes in the periphery; clansmen destroying pirates and small, independent colonies, and the like. They won't hit the bulk of the Inner Sphere for something like 8 or 9 months if I remember correctly. Rumors about about strange goings on and the Wolf's Dragoons know whats up, but we're not going to hear much on that for a little bit.

Something else to remember is only 5 to 15 years ago that the Grey Death Legion discovered that lost star league science core, thats where a lot of the newer tech that is now available and should be shortly available were developed from according to cannon. Without seeing the entire weapon list, I can't say if all the most up to date tech canonically speaking is out there.
