Please, take your ********* accusations of racism elsewhere. Every house has a certain culture which identifies it and ties back to some currently existing or formerly existing culture on Earth. In fact, they can all be directly tied to nationalities. Swedes, Germans, English, Japanese, Chinese, and Americans.

Exactly. So you're suggesting that our culture which identifies it is a stereotypical fat chinese guy? Not some feudal warrior (our banner is a freaking sword), Chinese architecture, or almost ANYTHING else? I repeat. Take your racism and get the **** out.

Are you really that incapable of taking a bit of a jab? I'm from another faction, one which in terms of lore is opposed to yours. Why would I paint you guys in a good light? Jesus Christ the absolute lack of a sense of humor is appalling, either grow a thicker skin or get off of the internet. I'm not racist, I'm just using a caricature as a bit of good natured ribbing, but you seem to be incapable of processing sarcasm or parody.

Wow. That was very well done. While I may hate House Liao, you list the reasons very well in the last paragraph, you have argued well.
I personally think that pretty much all the houses (and clans) have been/are evil to some extent. I don't know as much as you obviously do, but I get the feeling that the nicest people have been from Rasalhague (not the dominion though, since it includes a clan, invading jerks). May I also point out that even though House Kurita, The Lyran Commonwealth (steiner), and clan ghost bear (incidently my fav. clan) all invaded and beat up Rasalhague, I don't hate them. I may disagree with them, and think they're jerks, and that they should be punished, but I in the end, we're technically on the same side (minus clan Ghost Bear). But on the other hand, everyone is evil and needs to die (at least in MechWarrior). There are very few, and then only individuals, that seem good in MW.
Liao, I hate. I hate Liao BECAUSE it values unity over everything else. Unity is good, until it becomes your guiding purpose. That's why socialism and communism lag behind everyone else. We all seek to advance ourselves, to make ourselves better. Liao seeks only "unity". And if I have to be unified with someone who looks down on me for trying to be the best that I can be (that is what happens in socialism and communism), well, one of us is going down. And I think it won't be the one with much better mechs (and values), aka Rasalhague.
I send you a message of peace, in the form fiery hell.

Socialism and Communism are *not* the same thing. At all. Socialism is about helping the people who don't have the means to help themselves, where as Capitalism is about helping the people who have the most money. Is that a sweeping generalisation that can't be defended? Somewhat maybe, but it's a lot closer to the truth.

Wth do you mean by someone looking down on you? Social classes are an integral part of Capitalism, not Socialism which is classless (theoretically speaking). Unity is an integral part of humanity because all human activities require cooperation in order to achieve the best results. This is exactly what a Socialist system proliferates. Really, everything you just said was an advertisement for the very thing you're arguing against.

@OVERSKY: It's just a jab, ignore it if you have to.

Liao only has socialist parts. You can't have communism and "everyone must be the same" mentality in a totalitarian, feudal goverment with a concept of a Chancellor. We would have to have some rules preventing sevitorship and such to apply into your hated group.

Dop you still hate Liao? :)

I don't get it... back in my days we would choose our factions based on it's color and how it's name sounded.

...

Back in my days I was 8 years old... >_>

I wonder why some people hates House Liao is like hating USSR in real-life just because of all the "unity" thing equals to socialism/communism?

PS: Tell me, does "unity" violates individual freedom? Or is it something you might consider it "undemocratic" when as if it has taken to an extreme? Come on, democracy isn't the best either.

Well, I chose House Steiner because I love capitalism, like the blue and gray color scheme, sense of nationalism, and reputation as a sort of anti hero, while retaining a number of highly positive traits. I chose the Caldari State in EVE Online for the exact same reasons.

Although my post wasn't referring to you, but I appreciate your thoughts.

If it's EVE Online, I rather join Caldari over Gallente anyday.

I would like to apologize for upsetting some of you. My post was uninformed and disrespectful.
However, I must respond to those who attacked me in return.

No, I don't HATE house Liao now that I see that it is not totally socialist. Although a feudal system wouldn't be much better (seeing as it's all for
one and one for their self).

Why would hating a fictitious nation that is similar to a real nation be similar? Well, because they are similar. If you hate one thing, you'll usually dislike similar things.
I know that democracy isn't perfect. But I believe that it stays less corrupt for longer than socialism.
By the way, communism is just socialism that has turned into it's more radical form. Same for capitalism, in it's most radical form it becomes fascism.
Personally I prefer capitalism. Also, socialism is about making sure everyone is on equal ground all the time. Capitalism is about giving everyone an chance to achieve the most they can achieve. Just because the rich and wealthy thrive in capitalism doesn't mean that it's supposed to benefit only them, it just means they succeeded.
Dal10, your post is interesting. And you are correct, to an extent. The hated only gains strength on a mental level. It just takes up the life of the hater. Making them weaker. But I have other things I care much more about, perhaps "dislike" would be a better word.
BallsofSteel. Your right. I just said what it is people either love or hate about socialism. It's a love it or hate it thing.

If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. If you would like to discuss it further, message me. Otherwise, this thread is now pointless for the game's development.

This thread was not initially about whether or not you hate house liao. however some people *cough gattling cough* refuse to stay in their own sections of the forums and try to derail everything. Then they get mad when you respond in kind. This was originally about why people who chose this house, actually chose this house.

Make no mistake. I don't like the White Knighting Davion blow hards. But they're less evil then either Liao or Kurita. Actually as a Steiner I'm particularly inclined to hate you. Or is the memory of 50 million people murdered on one planet in the Lyran Commonwealth by Kuritan forces so easily forgotten? -.^

Stop living in the past. Theodore is brining a new light to the DCMS.

now who is the one being unreasonable here? Despite the fact I have stopped going after steiner forums, you have not ceased your efforts to badger everyone besides your masters, the davions.

I think you should stop feeding the "troll" even more before you would make a bigger fool out of yourself than you already have, dal10. I would just ignore the "mockeries" if I were you.

PS: Funny that Gattling was the one who created this thread.

I am making a fool out of myself how? Sorry if i am just tired of him. Gattling has been nigh constantly harassing me for a month now. Yet despite the fact I don't go back to the steiner forums to counter troll, I am the bad guy. greeaaaatttt...

edit: also, normally i would just use the ignore button, but that feels too much like letting Gattling win.
