Ha! I see... I see what you did there... yeah. Good stuff, good stuff.

Ya know, I though I was just making this stuff up but some of there are actual BattleTech weapons, like bolas.

Yes, Bolas, those spinning balls on a chain, are real BattleTech weapons! Devs, are you hearing this?

Do you have a reference for these?
I have yet to see them but then I really just played 2750, 3025, 3050.

Napalm gun. shoots a pod of napalm into the systems of a mech and eats at it. it will not destroy a mech but most system will be shot.

Bola Pods - they are an adaptation of the Narc Pod.

In fact, there's a whole set of weapons meant to be fired from Narc Missile launchers - see the list of Alternate Ammunitions and, specifically, check out the Explosive Pod, the Bola Pod, the ECM Pod, the Haywire Pod, and the Nemesis Pod. They're all meant to be fired from the NARC Missile Launcher

So [Devs], all we need is a Raven with a NARC launcher and access to these weapons to make Information Warfare that much more viable in the field... EDIT: Unfortunately, these special NARC munitions aren't devloped until the time between 3050-3060

Yeah, especially when it's directing a thousand missiles to your face.

Oh! There's an idea...

The Elfman
  • Weapon Type: ECM Pod, fired from NARC Launcher.
  • Action: Replaces the in-game soundtrack and voices with music and vocals directed and composed by Danny Elfman.

How about the trololol pod and replace it with the trololol anthem. If that doesn't mess your opponent up I don't know what would!

I know what will...

Variable-Damage Laser
  • Weapon Type: Large Laser variant
  • Action: Always shoots a visibly large laser beam, however the actual damage and heat output is set by the Pilot prior to firing...
... so you could never tell if your opponent is actually firing full-power shots, or if he's overheated and just bluffing, or if he's trying to make you think he's overheating himself... that would be sooooo annoying.

I call it: THE DANCING QUEEN.
Computer Virus broadcast by usual Radio and picked up through usual Mech-Sensors.
Goes straight to the Gyroscope Control Computer and makes it spin until the Mech does Pirouettes . .

Parasite Warhead
  • Weapon Type: Warhead for SRM

The LRM 20 are going to be a pain, especially if someone has a TAG or Beacons.

LRM-1.

The Plinking Man's missile launcher, the LRM-1 is an upgrade for everyone's favorite city-dweller: the Urbanmech!

Useless in close quarters, the LRM-1 really proves its relative worthlessness at range, where its single shot nature and lengthy reload serves to reduce its capability to land more than one or two hits before a mech has closed the distance to the now-revealed Urbie.

And because Urbanmech doesn't have much space, the LRM-1 isn't fitted with a guidance system--the weapon truly is "Fire and Forget"! It also comes with CASE-less external ammo storage--perfect for an easy reload!

The LRM-1--A Missile Launcher Fit For A Trashcan.

(Evil? Check. Annoying? Check.)

I love the external ammo bin ;-)

Now, what if those LRMs had a a funky urban warhead... like a graffiti paint bomb, or tear-gas...
