Please view this post with positive intent.

The term "clan" for a merc team within the MWO game is inappropriate unless you represent one of the established Clans found in the BT-milieu. While I respect and understand the use of the term "clan" within the gaming community, the term "Clan" has a very specific meaning in BT/CBT/MW-based games which MWO is going to be one of. If you are a merc team, then your team name - in game only - should indicate something more appropriate than "Clan".

If you do not know already, MWO will feature only four of the established Clans when they make their appearance - Wolf, Jade Falcon, Ghost Bear and Smoke Jaguar followed within 2.5 years later by the Nova Cats and Steel Viper. Since the game is supposed to progress in real time, few of the remaining Homeworlds Clans will make a showing.

Not every player will want to subscribe to the game flow initially, but, the game is being based on BT canon at the year 3049 and naming of gamer elements should follow canon terminology. Clan only means one thing in the Canon. Whether players want to follow it or not, this is a BT-based game and there are some specific that are, for the next year or so, immutable.

We are clan that plays many games. We play World of Tanks, Battlefield 3 and Stars Wars and fair few others and have been a clan for many a year so its not ment to be a traditional clan name in the history of mech warrior. Many of our clan will be playing MWO when it is released and many won't so I don't think we will change our name to fit the MWO history line after the clan has been running for many years and has its own history. Looking forward to the game though :(

no problem spicey just visit our site mate and go to the recruitment section and start from there.

and gremlich we're well aware of what the term clan means in the battle tech universe and thank you for your troll.
i'm sure if you check here http://mwomercs.com/...merc-corp-page/ you'll find us half way down the list. cheers.

if you on a personal level have a problem with our name you can refer to us as just STOMP. no skin off our teeth.

Obligatory Bamp for great justice. Pretty good group of guys here, I've had fun running with them in WoT and flailing around in BF3 with them...they were even nice enough not to laugh too hard at how terrible I am at BF3. Take a look at the link in my sig or on the first page of this thread if you're interested in a good Aussie/NZ/SE Asian TZ group.
