This is not to be taken seriously, I'm bored and noticed something funny.

This is to be a 'free to play' game that isn't supposed to also be a 'pay to win' internet game. A rare thing indeed and very much wanted by net gamers who don't have extra cash laying around. Granted it's still in beta and has been for several months now, yet they are advertising you can get into beta by buying a founders pack. So for the time being it's a 'pay to play' game, while I hate this idea I also know it's not permanent. Yes I have not bought one, nor do I desire one because I can wait; if it turns out to be as awesome as it claims, then I will buy one, but if not then I'm better off for my patience.

This is not intended to be hateful or to incite any actual beta testers to reveal anything, I'm just throwing my opinion out into the web and see what happens.

Yeah, I've seen this brought up a lot lately, though to your credit you're the only one who'se done so with maturity.

It's not pay to play, it's pay to beta-test. No one in founders is getting the finished game any sooner than anyone else, just a place as a beta tester.

Eh, as I see it they're giving investors a little early return. Open Beta will come soon enough, and when it does I believe it will be to the benefit of all. Getting into the beta simply wasn't a motivation for me: throwing my money at what is shaping up to be one of the best MechWarrior titles ever is my real goal as a founder.

you also have to understand the nature of this... it is Free to Play, but the company still needs to see a profit to keep it solvent. So to help show future investors what the potential of this game can be, they offer the Founders pack, and what better way to get people to buy said pack, allow early access. That being said, I own every last Mech Warrior game produced for the computer, it is by far my favorite game franchise and even without the included Beta Test I still would have bought a Founders pack. I think a company should be rewarded for a well made game.

Thanks, and yes I know it's only for beta testing, that's why I'm not worried about it, maybe grab some popcorn while reading the replies as they show up.

I agree, but I didn't/don't have the funds to do so, but ya beta isn't really enough motivation anyway. Although I haven't be a beta tester before, I just wanted to see how it works, but seeing how many games come out each year I don't care that I missed one chance.

Ya, money being a 'necessarily evil' does get annoying since it inhibits developers from doing completely what they want, but I agree that it's one of the best franchises out there today.

TBH I got the founder's pack for the $80 of currency, the 'mech with cosmetic upgrade and bonus cash, and the price that I was going to pay for the original Mechwarrior reboot when I first saw that warhammer.

I didn't pay to get into beta, nor did I pay to get the benefits of the founders pack. The only reason I paid is because I love the Mechwarrior franchise and wanted to support the developers bringing the franchise back to life.

Does that mean that it's breaking it's own rule?
Joking aside, I did not intend to, I'm just venting a bit and thought a few others could make some jokes to pass the time.

I also find it hilarious that only those who bought a pack have replied. It's like you have to defend yourselves or something. This will stand until a non-buyer comments. On another note, it's the end of summer, at this rate, I'll be back mid winter to see if anything has changed.

Plenty of non-founders in beta. I find it hilarious that you took the time to post this. /shrug.
