The only thing is I am having the darnedest time finding a good mini to be the base. I don't want to do a lot of sculpting I want to find miniture pieces that looks close enough and glue them together.
Ideas are welcome.

That's going to be really tough, near impossible I think. But you should find a good canon first. The rest shall just be parts of "sharp mechs".

I'm actually trying to sculpt one based on one of his concept pics. I've got part of the torso done but life got in the way and I haven't made any further progress. It will be N-Scale when its done.
I'm doing this one up just cause I like it best for looks. I'm thinking of making it either a version of the original AC5 type or there is an AC2 variant as well. I just like the overall look.

Your best bet is waiting until the game comes out, extracting the 3D model then either 3D Printing it or talking to those awesome Paper Model folks about converting it over.

I have taken the Starter Box Dragon (still at work - problem is spare time)...it looks similar and it is hard to make it more ugly.
