Seems someone is upset that he's not gonna be the super speshul snowflake, amongst the other speshul snowflakes.

That's in a raging blizzard.

That's been raging for 50 years.

In SIBERIA.

Seems someone likes posting just to start a war of words but instead I will answer with dignity.
Happy, I am not. That's a given, but it is justified at the same time. There's plenty opportunity to make a shedload of cash on this project (and it will happen there's no doubt about it.) Why do they need to prolong and devalue this one time exclusive offer? And yes the longer it continues the smaller the value it places on the product.

It's not that I want to feel like that "speshul snowflake" - please don't be so patronising (and while you're at it read a dictionary - surprisingly you might not find "speshul" in there.) But all the same, so what if I (and others) want to feel like we actually got something exclusive? It is the reason a whole bunch of us paid for it in the first place. $120 to buy into a F2P closed beta was not the reason I paid for it.

It's about knowing we (the founders) are the only few who made thier mark by meeting the original deadline. Seeing 60%+ of the player base as founders months after going live will just not do. There has to be a cut off point and that was meant to be today. They may not have said today in words but they produced a massive carrot to all diehard fans, then pulled it away at the very last second.

That's the sort of tactics other even less liked software houses do - just for the pure greed of it and to hell with the customers. I did not expect PGI (and devs please don't take this the wrong way,) despite the openness, to follow suit. Open they may be but transparent they are not. Telling you one thing then doing another then telling you about it after it has been done/decided is not the way to win people over, no matter how open you are about it.

Now if only I could get an adult response instead of the usual smack-mouthed kiddy posts. Oh and for everyone's benefit I am a happy guy in general, not normally phased about stuff, but this takes the biscuit and something had to be said.

Agree with Angar,
so the question is, will there be an alpha release?

I guess not as open beta will allow you to spend non refundable MC and the premium accounts time will be running. Anyway thanks for the note, I was expecting some huge download when I have just got home and some more scenarios than the three a few of us are already so familiar.

Just about to get the elite status on catapult... hurts a bit being reset.

Take care

MWO is a Free2Play game, and they usually doesn't ever go beyond Beta due to the fact that these types of games are consistently adding features.

Also an "Alpha" is generally a "In office only" test run of the program. General public only have access to invite only Closed Betas, open access Open Betas, and if it is not a F2P type game then they obviously have access to the final game.

I hope you wont reset mine mechs' perks (pilot lab) when Open Beta starts.

Open Beta will be treated as an entirely different game, so everything should be set to 0 including XP and GXP.

I'm glad to know that the founder mech packages, will be available for a while, and hopefully after launch when i can offically try the game and then make a decision. I like many are hesitent to buy, because frankly i'm not sure that the pvp only status of the game will be for me. (i really hope there is pve content down the road)

i honestly could care less about founder name, and ingame credits, but the bonus mech XP-cbills is something i could see myself paying for if i enjoy the game.

It's great that so many people are buying early, but if someone pays 120 bucks early, they are still getting the same 120 bucks if it is a few months later.

so a big thumbs up from me, about extending.. and perhaps the bonus XP mechs will become a thing of the future. pay X amount and buy the mech, Pay X+Y and get a 15% bonus mech.. works for me..

Still hoping for a chance to change my founder's mech. I'd rather go for the Hunchback than the Cat.

I can see how the current situation would be right for you, but why should the Founders pack be left well into open beta? That's the whole point of it being a limited time deal. Buy before the deadline or just be content you can pay into premium if you want to.

Good response though :)

I noticed someone's concerns about the Founders having an edge over non paying F2P players in terms of XP gain and Cbills. All I can say is you get what you pay for but that won't give us any long term advantage in gameplay. Sure we'll get perks faster for a while, but the non paying customer will still get there and in some cases do better. It's all in the devs announcements if you wish to have a look.

Please realize that the more people that buy founder, the more money the company has to improve the game further. By prolonging founder they're hoping to make the game more successful. Why are you against Mechwarrior: Online succeeding? I've had tons of fun in the beta, and I know that I'll have even more in the full game. I really don't care about how many people have founder mechs, because it's just a bonus that I'll be upset if anyone else has.

What are you trying to say here? That you won't care if more peop;e buy the "limited" edition founders packs, or that you will be upset if anyone else has the same "bonus" as you, but purchased it at a later "extended" date than you did? I'm confused....

foundern a person who establishes an institution, company, society, etc

I would seriously doubt they offer founder packages after the game goes from invite only beta to anyone can join beta. When it opens to the public is when those who purchased a founder package will be different from those joining for free. It is then you'll be able to say "I helped establish this game to be the badass game you all are enjoying for free."

But, before that point when the game is opened up to the public, it is still being established. So why be against allowing more people to participate in helping establish this game to be as well made as possible?

2 hours or so, depending on zero issues during maintenance, of course.

Also a valid point. I am just overwhelmed by a lot of the goodness of it being swept away. I do feel the biggest value for me was contributing to a game worthy of its potential accolade. All the other stuff is purely cosmetic and for aesthetic purposes only. I too played all the earlier versions of this (not the board game though) and I am indeed a diehard fan. Nothing can take that away from me.

Dracol I thank you for making me "snap out of it" and seeing the light mate. Cheers.

This is more of a question for the DEVs... I was reading the patch notes for todays patch and noticed that they claim to have fixed a bug that causes CtD. Im having a problem with crashing to mechlab; the way I understand it these are two different issues. I make it through 28% (exact w/sample size over 100 rounds) of the matches I play in w/o crashing to Mechlab, its starting to get old fast. I understand that its beta and problems are to be expected; I keep comming back for the abuse, lol. Im just curious if this problem has been addressed with the new patch, if not I cant see myself continuing to contribute to the beta until this is taken care of. All of you complaining about resets... be thankful you dont have this problem.

Also on a side note.... I just read through the entire post, I cant believe the lack of common sence along with the fact that most of you sound confused when all of your questions were clearly addressed on the very first post of this thread by the devs. Not intended to be hateful in any way... just read and re-read. it would save alot of user on user violence, lol. Also, I see no problem in extending the period that founders pack is availible for purchase along with multiple resets along the way, everyone is in the same boat. The game is still in CLOSED BETA (I think some of you need to learn the terms).
