Is it just me or is the trailer way better than the actual game? The game is good and I enjoy it but damn the trailer looks so awesome.

The trailer is just a cinematic, though. And for a different game.

Trailer for a completely different game, on a different rendering engine, and pre-rendered scripted scenes instead of on-the-fly-rendered-gameplay?

Yeah, the trailer looks pretty boss. But it's irrelevant.

Well to be fair this was developed before they really knew what direction that they were heading with the current iteration of the game. At this point they hadn't decided on a free to play model or if they were going to something similar to the retail release of the older games. This is also just basically a rendered movie of the what they wanted to do to show off to publishers in hopes of securing some more funds for development.

And they didn't. Sony turned them off and noone believed a mech sim could be profitable today.

I like what little video I've seen from PGI. I think the new direction will showcase better once we get our hands on it. The original had a nice grit to it, but for me, as long as the feeling of scale is nailed down and the levels look good, then I'm a happy camper.

Ok...That makes sense. That trailer is so damn cool though. Fighting in a city like that would rule. Especially when the Jenner jumps on the building and the mech shoots it out from under him. Oh well...

It's cool, but it was never meant to reflect actual gameplay. It's a movie.

the davion mech going up against the atlas, looks like a warhammer, and I thought that was one of the mechs Fasa faced a lawsuit over, as I think its a macros/gundam mech

If the actual gameplay is even little like this official teaser trailer for MWO (not for the cancelled MW Reboot), then the game is definitely worth playing!
