I listen to the sound of my teammates on Teamspeak 3 providing me with intel and responding to my orders. Much more effective than music, although less enjoyable acoustically... well, I suppose the cheers of victory are rather pleasing.

Getting away with murder is one of my favorite songs. I also first heard it in Mech Assault, then again a couple years later. I was sure I had heard the song before, and looked back at the line of games on the bookshelf. "Why do I feel like this came from Mech Assault?" ... probably because it did, haha.

I actually tend to get myself in trouble if I listen to music whilst I participate in a drop... Cuts down on my situational awareness. Tends to get me killed. Get the awesome music flowing and I get delusions of grandeur.

(I actually made that video some years back, as MW4:Mercs was in steep decline. Was hoping to squeeze a little more fun from it before I put it on the shelf. Needless to say, I could never quite find enough people or get the scheduling worked out for the actors to get anything more than a trailer put together...)

Drum and Bass is the only music a true mechwarrior would be listening to. It's futuristic and punchy and reminds of of the beaty robotech battle music.

Ed Rush and Optical's Wormhole is also good.

Currently been listening to classic metal stations from my Tunein presets. Lots of Judas Priest, Sabbath. When that's not cutting it, action oriented game soundtracks and movie scores (soundtrack to Mechwarrior 2 is PERFECT with this game). Big beat. Classic Rock/Metal. Industrial. IDB. Synth based music.

Loud & Crunchy.

Also, the music from the Command & Conquer series seems to lend itself rather well.
