Can the Dai-er, Dire Wolf grab the enemy's leg and rip it out of it's socket before using it to beat the enemy to death, Quineg?
Neg, while we cannot grab you from the Dire Wolf, we can, and will obliterate you before you get close enough to physically touch us.

They make really nasty Laser cannons.. Slap some nice juicy MRM 40's on there and the rest can be laser'd up.
Atlas are for ******* who can't run the daishi... joke <3

The average Dire Wolf is one bad ****. I hate taking them on when playing the tabletop version and I've drawn IS forces.
When I get to play full on lvl 3 rules (before the "Company which will not be named" took over) I have a few nasty things
to take care of Clanners. Anybody that uses HMPro to play on a map (old school) can attest to the fun you can have if you
know how to design a true killer machine. My friends hate it when I drop an open challenge

Although it's got the usual clan heat problems its massive array of weapons allows it to choose the range with ease and its a heavily protected beasty. The stock ALS-7D is outgunned by the Direwolf by such a degree that its just not funny.
Although if given other options i'd either go for a Burrock, a clan 75 tonne brawler, the fearsome looking Optimus Pri...I mean Grand Titan or 100 tonnes of hatchet weilding death. The BRZ-A3 Berserker.

All in all, its a bit not fair to compare them, but both are iconic powerfull mechs and i always liked the "havoc ahead" attitude of the Atlas

No, but it can easily deal with 2 or more Atlas at long range, alone. This is not a fair compairson. Against the Dire Wolf the Atlas is a stone age like rusty bucket, but is hast still style.

And Birdeater, I believe Daishi meant Great Death or something similar.
Great death can be read as:
1) killing opposition greatly!
2) die greatly because the Daisy goes down with a big bang....
Don't think asian people would like to pilot one in real (ofcourse this is an game).....no asian likes to sit in something that is called great death... as if the pilot will die greatly.... ehhh no thanks....

In general, I prefer IS tech (if not matched 1:1 against Clan), but dislike the Atlas - I'd choose it one number smaller and would be completely happy with a Battlemaster.
