Id rather pilot a Cyclops than an Atlas or Daishi.

Given the only two choices I would choose the Atlas because I'm a freeborn. But given the time period that we will be in I'll take the Annihilator. Regardless of the "superior" technology of the Daishi, I'mma open a can of LBX death on them clanners.

Not that there is going to be a choise in the early game due to the timeline, Atlas all the way.! The Atlas "look" is the epitamy of BT/MW to me. I would go with one of the variants, though, to fit my personal style of combat.

Warhawk..wait what? That isnt an option? I like the Warhawk over the DireWolf and Direwolf over the Atlas..I quite dont like the Atlas anymore...its to big, lumbering and slow. Ofc, I then say I wanna pilot a Zeus.

atlas IIc all day long over a daishi

an in the IS theres no such thing as dirty tactics, especially when a clan mech has you out teched 5 to 1, and outranged 2 to 1. (there armor is 2x as effective for the same tons, their internals weigh half as much for the same space and their lasers shoot 2x as far for the same dmg and heat, their missiles are lighter if only a little hotter, same with their acs, their heat sinks are double effect for same space and weight)

so ya if theres a battalion of clan mechs coming, theres nothing at all wrong with countering them with an orbital bombardment and 3 battalions of atlas's.

A stock Dire Wolf could Alpha strike a stock Atlas silly. Then a second Atlas could join in and it would be a fair fight.

Xanthos, yes the Age of War Quad.

AS7-D 2 MLs, SRM6, AC/20, LRM-20
XNT-30 3 MLs, SRM6, AC/20, PPC

Same armor, same speed, Quad can't twist but can sidestep.... would make circle fighting really interesting.

XNT has more firepower in close and won't run out of ammo for the PPC.

Water deep enough to hide the legs makes the XNT a real pain to hit.

When was it first produced.... 2564, a few centuries before the AS7-D. Why did they stop making it? I have no clue.

There is an updated XNT model in the Jihad. ER PPC, 5 MPLs, rear ER SL, and JUMP.... a 50 kph jump at that it jumps as well as a GRF-1N (farther then a SHD)....

I want to land my 100 ton quad mech on your Atlas.

Daishi. Daishi! DAISHI! GIVE ME MA DAISHI! *Brings out torches and pitchforks*

Yeah...I love that clan 100 ton mech waaayyy too much... ;)

But until it comes out, naturally the Atlas. I would have to go through the varients to decide specifically which one. Either one will shatter a line effectively, no matter which mech you choose. Though I'm still a freeborn at heart, and will use ma Daishi as such. :(

Like all clanners, the Diashi mechs will crumble and I would gladly pilot an Atlas to serve this House.

So much broken and wrong with clan tech imo.

So advancements in technology is broken and wrong? Yep we're going back to the Dark Ages.
