I think it is about high time we got a Smoke Jaguar AND a Ghost Bear Sourcebook. I have been reading Historical Turning Point: Operation Klondike & I have to say I am overwhelmed with all this new information. We already have Sourcebooks for the other two of the four main invading clans so I think some major attention be given to the Bears & Jags.

Yes I know it will not be the almighty FASA but I would suspect you Catalyst haters may have some warm fuzzy feelings if they give us gifts like those.

I would like a historical of the Golden Era for the Clans, not just some little handout

Op. Klondike is an awesome read! I agree more sourcebooks would be sweet. Mason Grimm has the right idea though. That's the place to cry out for more source books!

What it is only 40 pages, how is that a sourcebook.

Okay bg.battletech.com defines it as a mini sourcebook... still a handout, i Mean we have 100+ years of Clan history we know little about.

History is written by the victors. How about we pound the clanners to dust and then we can write whatever we want about them!

I think we know a lot about that 100+ years, whats missing is a detailed timeline. Both Field Manuals + Invading Clans cover the golden century pretty well in my eyes.

Which is pretty irrelevant around the time of Operation Klondike, don't you think?

Why? To try to antagonize the SJ fans? They get enough of it. Yeah so SJ goes down in a number of years, they needed to do something with the story line, and they had a lot of pre3050 fans who probably got their heads in a vice being so upset that their factions got so chewed. Had to let the playerbase get 'revenge' somehow.

Either way, we have 11 years of play before SJ goes, I would love to see MWO last 10 years, but chances are we would have MWO (2) by then

Something I find remotely funny FireNova... You, Amarus and a few other SJ have it out for Dark Ages, yet you all have no problems in letting the Fidelis and possible revival of SJ in to your thoughts :)

hrm, could an SJ player temper the Dark Age with SJ revival? or was that the DA writers' ploy all along to lure people
into DA? My cbills on the latter :)

SJ: DA sucks...Fidelis? oooo shiny! (lol)

Eh, I just simply think the time is past for all the SJ hate and media bias. That was in the past. If people want to play as Smoke Jaguars, Wolves or anything in BattleTech/MechWarrior, I think it is their right to do so. Seeing others try to discourage new and old BT fans from joining let alone playing as the Smoke Jaguars is just doing the BT franchise a disservice IMHO. Its like there is an active bias/conspiracy to keep SJ (and said fanbase) from having a say and a place in something we all know and love: BT/MW. It is high time there was a revival of factions/clans and promoting/encouraging interest in BT instead of going down the same old faction killer route/spamming X and Y faction is dead and encouraging FREE CHOICE among all players who want to play a certain faction (this includes SJ). MWO should be a fun game for all without the need to discriminate against a certain player/fanbase that simply made a choice to play as SJ.

Pointing out media (ComStar) bias and general dislike of SJ simply because of some bad lore (Turtle Bay/Edo) and the vast majority of CBT writers and fans are IS based needs to be revealed more often IMHO. This is why Newt Gingrich is surging in polls because he attacked the media bias. People are sick of media spam bias wherever it may be and whatever topic it may be and is the reason why people can't have a balanced approach to things. Now is SJ some heroic completely good guy faction? Of course not. But the same can be said of every other faction in BT. This "shades of smoke grey" thought needs to be returned to BT as soon as possible IMHO.
