I love the redesign, bye bye turning necks and frigging butt firing lasers.

This looks like a battlemech a family man will be proud to drive on weekends when he goes out to hunt kuritites and capelans :(

Keep them coming Iglesias... next a wolfhound, locust, warhammer or marauder... thank you. :)

You fire twice and your heat is critical, machine gun, etc, :)

If you can, install Mechwarrior 3 and start a new campaign, you will see how it preforms now. :(

Developers said - that this game will be a harmonious addition to the BT universe, but what we can see - a game similar universe of BT.

The Autocannon 10 and Medium Lasers are well done, but the LRM 10 is in too small an area on the chest. Given the slimness of the torso region there is no room left for the ammunition reloads for the LRM 10. The addition of the Roman-like Centurion shield is a nice touch - I can see the shield being made of Reflec or Reactive armor to provide some additional protection. The feet and head look a little odd, compared to the original centurion design, but I will give the designer creative license there since they do not detract from the overall design.

Three words: Will. Definitely. Pilot.

God I love the Centurion. Now, if they give me an Enforcer, or better yet, a Victor, I will be the happiest MechWarrior this game has ever seen.

What a strange device on his left arm and shoulder? What does it do? If it was not before, whether you need it now?

I think I'll open with the opinion that the redesign isn't bad, they've all been great thus far (and I kind of like the old dragon compared to the new-new remake,) but I do have a few things I think could be handled a bit better on this new imagining of the Centurion.

The legs, to me, should be a bit more humanoid/thicker with less of the multitude of foot stabilizer parts, and the hand being less of a claw and more like an actual hand.

In the end, these are really minor persaonl preferences, and I still really really enjoy this new Centurion art. Alex continues to impress and has such a great imagination when it comes to these designs, that they're the highlight of my wednesdays :)

I really do like it, it has character yet retains enough of the original features to be recognisable. Now to shoe horn that Gauss Rifle in there and give Dragon drivers heart failure...

Source: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Yen-Lo-Wang

The Yen-Lo-Wang, named after the Chinese god of death, is a custom Centurion that was originally used by Justin Xiang-Allard in 3027 during his "exile" on Solaris VII and his Solaris Championship run. He modified the 'Mech originally with an Assault Autocannon and placed Titanium "nails" on the 'Mech's hand actuator. He used the 'Mech later during his career withHouse Liao's Maskirovka during the Fourth Succession War.

The Yen-Lo-Wang was originally armed with an Autocannon/20 in place of the Centurion's Autocannon/10, two Medium Lasers and either a Hatchet or aClaw.
Later on, Hanse Davion had Kai Allard-Liao's 'Mech upgraded with a Gauss Rifle in place of the Autocannon/20, three Medium Pulse Lasers and TSM. Presumably sometimes in the 32nd century, the ancient 'Mech was refitted with a Heavy Large Laser, an LRM-20 with Artemis IV, a Hatchet, and a Shield, which was piloted by Danai Liao-Centrella.

Yen-Lo-Wang was ancient mech which Kai inherited. Why should it have all those Davion insignias over it? This looks more like it:

You'd have to be able to flail your arm freely to use that as a shield. All it is actually doing, in-game, is providing a larger target for someone to hit your arm and register damage from a profile shot. The arm would have to support allowing more armor in that arm for it to act as n actual shield of any type. And if there's more tonnage in that arm, there's less room for weapons/items, so it'll just be seen as a shield arm. This means, if you're a smart pilot and you want to damage the Centurion, you just ignore firing on this arm, cause it's wasted shots.

I like how the blurb talks up the armament when it's actually pretty seriously underpowered. Guess this is L1 era though.

Also, turning heads - how are you supposed to control them in a PC game? I don't think cutting them out was a bad thing.

NO!!! Blasphemy!!!

I may let it slide as a Centurion if the timeframe for this game was 3075+ since it looks like is was designed AFTER the Word of Blake Celestial class mechs were produced.

But this is in 3049

This is a Centurion in 3049:

I will simply clarify my post.

There is already a Centurion in the official canon that spans from the manufacture date on through the 3070s. Then there is a different looking one for the 3130s.

What you are trying to do is akin to taking a modern car like the 2011 Ford Mustang and trying to convince us that it is exactly what the 1990 Ford Mustang looked like.

The other 5 mechs looked close enough to the originals, this one has Word of Blake smeared all over it.
