In the words of George Takei " OH MY! " this ranks right up there with the Bushie for my all time favorite medium mech. SO very very glad to see it in the game.

I like the more realistic look of the shield. Much better than the full Tower that always made me dislike the 'Mech, even with my deep love of ancient Rome. Keep up the work on these things, I can't wait to see some of my personal favorites come out, and I am even more eager to see Clan designs!!!

YMMV, but since we are talking about liking the new Centurion or not, I will say this:

This is the first mech I have actually set as my desktop background, and the thing looks fantastic.

Cheers!

As if I needed any more reasons to consider the Centurion my go to medium mech. Now FD has made it even prettier, watching this art come out is probably my favorite part of waiting for the release.

Seems to me that they are trying too hard not to Rip-off Robotech.

This centurion looks pretty great.
Now to stare at this for awhile and daydream about what the raven will look like.

OR what the Centurion cockpit/command couch looks like. Yeah... I like that. WAIT NO... Raven ties in to Information Warfare.

ALSO Next month is a leap year AND 5 Wednesdays in the month... special? MWO comes out in the Summer, 2012 is either going to be a very good year, or we are all going to burn a horrible death at the hands of the Sabre Cat in December XD

Well... I was hoping for something faster than a Hunchie or with jumpjets because we already have a 64kph no-jump medium Mech based on an AC. The Centurion looks great, but I always thought medium Mechs should be able to keep pace with heavies. At least the Centurion was designed to be a slow-moving escort so it matches the Catapult well. I do hope they release a fast medium before game launch so we'll have somthing to hunt scouts with, like a Gladiator or Uziel.

The Hunchback has no real medium to long range ability, whereas the Centurion can cover it all the way in

Seriously, that's the first thing I thought when I saw this baby. Normally, I've been 'meh' about the Centurion, but just from the looks... I definitely want to give one a spin. Kudos, FD, this is amazing.

It's not so much the weapons, it's the base design. I thought medium Mechs should act like screening forces to sweep the forward field, kill their scouts, and then return to the main line when an engagement takes place. So far the mediums at our disposal aren't meant to "go find the action," they're meant to let the action find them.

The MWO facebook page recently posted a complaint about how long it takes for an assault mech to cross the map, well, the same will probably go for the Hunchie, Catapult, and Centurion because they're all on the slow-end of 65kph, just 10kph "faster" than an Atlas. The Dragon is lightning-quick compared to the Centurion.

Just did a litle side-by-side comparison between the classic design and the new design. New design really kicks ***. It might be blasphemy to say, but I thought it was about time that the mech design of mechwarrior was brought a bit up to snuff, and I'm glad you guys are delivering.

The first thing I thought when I pulled the page up was, "Since when were there Armored Cores in BattleTech?" Then I looked closer at it.

Wow.
