Its getting a little old, I have noticed that there are several threads giving away beta keys for free and 97% of everyone on those threads is just begging for a key. I mean seriously! If you want to get into the beta, just sign up for it OR buy the founders pack. Simple as that.

When you are dealing with simple minds, simple tasks are complex.

I think it started when one person posted and offered up and extra key he had.
He was founder and had gotten an extra key after attending the Nvidia event.
Since then I have seen more of these threads with players asking of someone has an extra key around.

I cant remember seeing any posts about it before that.
Apparently people think that if one person has it, others must have it as well.

I haven't begged for one, but if there were a way to get one for friends I would. Being a founder means I slapped down cash and I have a full time job so this is no problem. Many of my friends however, are in college and between semesters and trying to save every cent. I want them to be interested and maybe even play with me, but they would need keys. If I could get them one or they could earn one through non-monetary means then I would jump on it.

tldr:
if you could earn keys without paying money, you'd see less of these threads.

I think it's weird myself. People should just accept the fact that nobody is just gonna let them in for free.

Have you seen the beta key threads, though? They are ridiculous.

I am waiting, and i am not complain, but I just tell you, that in my country the newest games are about 40 usd so i think 30 usd for a beta key is a bit expensive, and its the cheapest founders pack. I can wait, but when someone say, that he has an unnecessary betakey i will sign for it.When its not happening, i can wait for the open beta.

Look man, I know the people that can't afford the beta key founders kit, or are still pending with the beta signup. I am talking about EVERYONE else, the people that CAN afford the founders kit, but want to get into the beta free of charge without having to wait.

I think people figure it's just easier to ask over and over (etc etc) than break out the Visa card and drop 30...need to upgrade my box first and THEN I'll drop the 30 ;)

The problem is that some people want to get into beta to "check out the game" before they want top commit to buying a founders pack.
Its as if people think that getting into beta will show them what the game will be like, not understanding that there are still allot of work to be done.

What's with everyone complaining about everyone asking for beta keys?

I mean, seriously, who the **** cares who's asking for what on the forum?

People are going to ask for things they want, be it beta keys, Madcats, or bobble-heads.

Get over it and move on.

Actually, the problem is most of these folks are used to other games were a "closed beta" isn't an actual closed beta per most development cycles. Those other games give closed beta players a set number of "extra" beta keys to give away to get people involved. (Smite, PoE, a couple other moba type games, etc.) Those players are used to a beta (closed or open) being a 99% finished game and the beta is just a publicity stunt instead of actually being active bug hunting and testing by the players.

These threads turn up in every beta, and you will notice, most post's follow the line. "I have been following since day one, and I would really like to test this game and give valuable input to develop it". Then you note it is their one and only post, they had not registered until they posted their begging piece (so they didn't even register for a chance at beta), and they haven't even bothered filling out their forum profile.

They are the Internets leeches looking for anything remotely associated with the word free; sadly their incessant begging drowns out those with a legitimate interest in the title and a beta key.

I'd love to pay for a beta key, but their merchant account suppliers don't seem to like that my credit cards and Paypal account are associated with my US address, but I'm currently studying abroad in Thailand. Boo-hoo for me.

That being said, if anyone has an beta key, I'll pay you $30 for it ;).

Seriously bro, it isn't the people that are asking for something i've got a problem with the people who beg over and over for a beta key just so they can play the closed beta before everyone else.
