This thread is de-railing fast (and I seem to have been adding to it going faster).
I haven't seen much entitlement from the founders in this thread. Yes, the way the arguments were made could have been more friendly, but the comparisons that started those arguments to appear were so bad and full of entitlement themself that I can relate to it.
This game is free2play once it is released. Until then you can
a ) buy a founder pack to get into beta early.
b ) hope for more keys to be given out (at random by Paul kicking the server again, at cons or for whatever reasons the devs come up with)
c ) wait till the day the game goes into open beta.
Nothing else has been said by the founders.
The arguments of the non-founders were, that they wanted to test out the game before they invest money into it. Those arguments were attacked, because nobody forces anybody to pay anything in advance to play. I agree with the desire to test something before you pay for it, but this shouldn't entitle you to anything (like more keys) when it comes to closed betas.
The founder packs are nothing else, then what happens over at kickstarter.com. It just didn't use a third party platform to raise money and you had to pay before you know if the founding has had any success. The early beta access is just an incentive for the investors.
So can we please tear down this wall, some seem to have build between founder and non-founder members of this community?
