How are the units we join on this website going to be represented, I wonder?
For instance, the Skjaldborg, with an impressive number, I'm just a little confused as to how they're going to keep track of one another. This confusion likely stems from uncertainty as to the how the mechbay each player account will have is dealt with.
While I'm all for this idea (don't dare think otherwise), it makes me wonder a bit.

Also, if we wanted to make up a small-scale unit of our own, the ways of going about managing THAT would run into the same issues, so I ask for that front, too.

If this is a question so basic and stupid it insults you, please link a page where it's all discussed and I'll shut up. :) Otherwise, discussion?

We, the Skjaldborg, keep track of ourselves off of mwo in our own forum, and I imagine ingame there will be something similar for us to join together and coordinate our efforts. Since the Skjaldborg technically a mercenary group, I think this will affect how we organize differently than the house units.

I know that's not much, but it's all I've got.

Still helpful. I suppose we're going to have to wait and see for the majority of our logistics theories to be addressed.

For non-merc units (House/Faction units), as far as we know now, they are represented as nothing more than a tag that would go on/below your name or whatever. They are not player run or controlled, they are just there for warm fuzzies. They get you access to different skins, and things of that nature, but they don't get any method for organization.

We do know that mercs get a "Merc HQ", but we aren't exactly sure what that means yet.

Not sure if that helped answer your question at all. :)

Well, thank you for this info, both of you. :)
I'll see what I can rustle up for myself with this.

1) Ok.
2) I prefer air hockey.
3) IC: What is this 80's that you speak of?

Doesn't matter which he's speaking of, 'cause there's only one 80s I acknowledge.

Everything old is new again. The 3020s and 3030s saw yet another 1980s revival of fashion due to rebroadcasting of the classic VH1 series, "I love the '80s".

This thread makes me want someone to make a montage of mechs going about daily life in the 80's with sometimes hilarious results. Like that one time an Atlas tried to pet a kitten. awwww

I dunno...the Members Only Stalker with is neon green and hot pink glitter paint and random studs only ends up looking more like a giant "personal massager" walking about town in the end. Then again, every guy would be jealous of a mech that's that popular with the ladies. Maybe it could be a buddy type show where he helps his nerdy friend Urbie find a girl.

I will be beyond furious if there's a Rick Astley poster in my MechBay...

Still - Kelly McGillis, "Danger Zone"... that'll do

The KungsArmen regiments will be joinable by faction players at launch. They are not player controlled.

Also, very early on, there was another group called the Tyr Regiment that posted a couple times, and has since disappeared. So there MAY be more out there that aren't active on the MWO forums.

Yeah, and they had you guys beat in the name department. I mean, the god of single combat? How awesome is that? (Though I don't know how well they would do vs Clan wolf...seeing as how Fenrir bit off Tyr's hand...) I can't even pronounce you're guys' name, how is it? Shaldforgadslourfgagal?
